One day I'm gonna get someone to make a huge NA engine and drop it in a 200 series. I like having options on the road. Being stuck on a country two lane behind a train of cars gets old
There’s an option out there to rebuild your 3UR-FE as a 7.0L. I don’t have the $ for that foolishness but it’s a drop-in for the LC/LX once you swap the pistons, crankshaft, etc that comes with it since it’s the same block

The supercharger is eventually going to happen for me. I just need to get smarter on how far I can go and make it safe with the proper tune. Would much rather start out with a properly tuned Stage 2…I think I would be happy with that as a stopping point. It may be wild, but I can’t think of a more versatile and potentially reliable vehicle than a Land Cruiser with over 500hp/500tq at the wheels.

Life’s too short to drive a boring vehicle. 😁

Oh nice! Does it come with an air to ground refueling team?

Do you think a 🐷-back is sufficient? Honestly dont know all that a “proper tune” entails.

Prospeed told me they could install a Unichip on my 2020 and go stage 2 right away. Bigger injectors etc but told me to wait for the 2018+ crack then go stage 2. They do lots of stage 1's with stock tunes and have no qualms. In going to put mine on stage 1 for now. I ain't skeirt! Will do the Bull Bar and 12.5 tank at the same time. Those sit in the shop waiting on my time to install. Had to get the trans put on my Excursion to have enough working vehicles to allow the 200 to go offline.

Is this still the case for Harrop Stage 1? (I snipped this today whilst hovering over "Check Out" button!)

Whereas Harrop USA says this...

Welp, I'm stage 2 now. Tuned using HPTuners.

513 all-wheel hp
563 all-wheel torque
9psi per boost gauge
80mm pulley
ARH long tubes with cats, stock LX exhaust
Prospeed fuel system

Mustang Dyno MD-AWD-500

Any updates on this beast? Seems like it could be making ~700 pound-feet at the crank when you factor in AWD drivetrain loss. Harrop had 120HP loss on a hub dyno at stock so I'd imagine measuring at the tire would increase loss similar to a dyno run with larger tires would. Just a guess.

Adding that Harrop now has a 77.5mm pulley available that a few Tundra guys have gotten in the last few days, myself included. If you're feeling froggy! I am going in for a tune and injectors next week starting with my 85mm pulley. I have the 80mm and new 77.5mm pulley, although going in small stages by suggestion of an experienced tuner. This is from Harrop:

"As long as blower speed stays under 18k there is no issues. Unless you are running a larger lower and a 65 upper or revving the engine more than 6800 you won't get outside the warranty rpm."

Magnuson also has a new 2650 blower out for the 3UR-FE. Their warranty is for 3 years though void if you go to a smaller than supplied (86mm) pulley. Harrop has a 1 year warranty. Not that I cared, but mine expired today :steer:

That’s all the information I need 👌🏼

…well, except, what would stage 3 do 🤔
See above. Maybe not stage 3, but Stage 2.5? :hillbilly:

Sorry to be lazy but do you have a post or write up about the harrop on your ‘18? and all youve done / feedback?

No.

Ha. Anything specific you’re referring to? I havent done anything yet except had a shop install and drive it. To be honest I’m just trying to cut and paste what the Tundra guys are doing because I don’t want to be the guinea pig. Tons of guys running the TRD maggy,
Harrop, even one guy with a massive 2.9L Whipple.

You’ll have to take a week of reading to go over the 360 pages in the “general supercharger thread” on the tundra forum. Kidding.

I didn’t even realize it until about a week ago that the Harrop kit I have actually includes a 340lph fuel pump. Most basic answer to your question is install kit and use 91octane+ And drive.

Personally I feel like without a tune and injectors you only get about half of the supercharger. My baseline is at 5,000-10,000ft and with large tires so my perception could be off. Since a tune is basically necessary I figured why not go stage 2?

Things I’ve gathered: unless you are going over 700whp you don’t need the Prospeed fuel rails and system. This was well documented by @ViktorG, he has an insane Tundra build on YouTube. Stuff was taken down but may be back up now. ‘16+ are only currently supported by VFtuner and seems like that platform is rudimentary compared to Hptuners however a competent tuner shouldn’t have a problem. I should have known to ask Ben at Slee when looking for an experienced tuner that’s local. I
changed tuners last minute to have someone local.

Stage 2 expenses look something like this:
~$800 injectors
~$175 pulley
$100 Denso IKH22 1 step colder plugs
1.5hrs to install injectors
? mod oem fuel pressure regulator?
$750? Tune

Excited to see what power Mike @Figsengineering can unlock.

Edit- here is that thread for reference.

i reached out to a few shops this weekend for estimates. The Harrop stage one is just over $8k now. I figure 20 hrs for instal if going slow… $150/hr for labor = $3k at the most so total = $11k. waiting to hear back from Prospeed. Had one shop get back to me saying +/- $18k 🤯🤯🤯 for a simple stage 1!!!!! That seems insane to me. $10k-12k is more inline but honestly anything over $11k is bidenomics. If prospeed is under $11k I’ll pull the trigger.

I never read this reply LOL

But thank you though, I will now

Following up on my post from March 18th. I am in Dallas so going to Prospeed in Houston presented some logistical challenges. I ended up at Goode’s Offroad locally and am beyond impressed! I’m the black one. He had also finished up this LX. There are no identifiers on the LX but if it’s yours and you want me to remove it please let me know. Also if it’s yours, very nice LX!!!

The VFTuner software is definately a lot less user friendly than HPTuners but they seem to have all of the neccesary maps and the same maps that HPTuners does when I have opened up Tundra files in both.

Is there any indication of model year readability?

VFtuner had the file for my 2018 LX and we found the file for someone else's 2021 LC. So i think any 2016+ should be able to be tuned by VFTuner.
