Wow! These are perfect! If I had a 100 series, I'd buy these in a heartbeat. Any chance a 4Runner or generic sizes will be made available? Really nice job!

I am open to porting the design to other rigs, YES. The way I approached, designed, and specified these lends itself well to quickly creating new sets for other trucks. That said this is not my day job so I need to think about how to prioritize the interest. I like the idea of a 'generic' that does not custom fit the sides like these do, and even have ideas for how to secure via a flexible, yet still strong, system. It will take a good bit of measurements and research though, so if you want to give me a month or two then PM me we can chat.

Neat approach! We took two very different approaches to this challenge. The extruded UHMW is very clever for the slides. I haven't seen that before and I'm still not sure where you got it. I think you'll do well... until my buddy and I can get our *&!@ together to catch up! ;)

Well done, Dave. Cheers.

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to seeing yours!

What provision have been made to secure gear on top of the drawers?
How are the drawers held in place?

Securing gear is very dependent on the user vision so I deliberately left it out of the scope. I do have some things I tested and have used and will post them in this thread, see the Index post (#2) 6th one down

Beta is closed, sorry, @Jlanewrx and @billygoats, but thank you for the offer!

@Newps, will get a photo and then reply to your very good question

Hey all - yes as @TexasCrane said I have been overseas for work/fun (fun part was Israel where I have to say I was disappointed to learn modifying your vehicle more than one tire size is not allowed without significant recertifications and paperwork, and in general no one modifies their vehicles at all. Saw one built Defender with a RTT on a trailer that was passing through but that was it. Had hoped for inspiration from some cool LC's but nope)

Anyway I am back for only a day and then off to the family's annual beach camping trip (more testing the drawers;) so am not fully back online until Monday. I'll be working on installation instructions & group buy details during the trip, but there's no wifi/cell so no comms.

And I am happy to report that Betas have paid, their parts are on order, and I am on track for shipping them next week as promised!

@TLC Norway how about this?

(top sheet not shown - when shipped it makes a nice strong sandwich)

BETAS ARE SHIPPING - how else could I cram *3* sets of drawers in (1) land cruiser?

Now that these are heading out I can focus on thread cleanup, and starting that group buy this weekend. Thanks for everyone's patience!

Im in!

Unless those d-rings have tension on the actual ring they'd never get within 10 feet of my rig. They've got "RATTLE TRAP" all over them. At least to me...

Note- I will be splitting all the great info and resources out of this thread into its own, Drawer Customization & Finishing thread, something drawer system agnostic so whether you are building your own or taking a drill to your mighty TrekBoxx you can see what folks have done, what works, and what they've learned.

SO - please don't post any more good stuff here and give me a day or two to move all my posts and set it up, I won't be abel to move your posts and don't want to lose your input!

This thread will just be about FAQs for the KISS Drawers going forward.

nnnnate, good call on the rattling. I have put some of this D-Ring Isolaters and got some Viton Washers so they don't rattle and might do the same for these hook ups. One could also use eyelets. I just like these fold down flat and I plan on sleeping on top of the platform and don't want stuff poking through mattress.

Nice work. The 100 guys are really starting to get quite a few nice options. Good to see.

do the "wings" flip up or can it be modified to flip up easily?
The sides do not flip up right now, but one of the Betas is actually working on an approach so you might be able to see that soon.

I think im going to add a tie down system like this to the top of mine. Maybe 2-4 strips front to back. Core Track - 48" L-track - Aircraft Aluminum Track Rigging
That's a real good one I was eyeballing too. The two others I am considering:

And if you want single, removable tie-down points like those:

I love the simplicity, and if I didn't use the 3rd row, I would be all on it, but I really need a system where I can have just one drawer at a time. Would it be possible, that you would consider selling just a "framing kit". Where I can order just the extruded framing, and the drawer slides. That way I could assemble it as a two drawer system, and add my own wood dimensions ?

@slimbuddha - I have thought of that but not had time to pursue - it would need tweaked mounting pieces, and confirmation everything would actually FIT as I envision, and with the group buy going and the design tweaks from beta feedback it's down the list. There's a real good chance of porting this to 80s, maybe 60s, and THEN I will look at a single standalone.

Not sure I understand how the framing kit would "assemble as a two drawer system"? If you mean by adding a second drawer whenever the seat was removed and leaving one in all the time: adequately mounting, interconnects, ensuring top strength, anti-trapezoiding supports, yikes it wouldn't be simple - I won't even be trying that no.
