So my tailgate/lower hatch is stuck closed & won't release on the left hand side. Right side is fine. I can hear a click on the left, but it gives no play at all. Similar click on the right, but I can get about an inch of movement. I have tried the 80 series trick of moving lever forward, and that didn't work.

I have both Kiss drawers and a HFab tailgate storage making access to the cables almost impossible. The stock photo shows an open tailgate, but should help the imagination envision why I have access issues with one that is closed. Looking for any hints before I need to disassemble my very full drawers from above...

I mentioned a similar issue here. Likely, the cable came off the mount. Try locating the cable and pull hard.

It is this (thanks borescope). Now I need to fashion a tool to get in there and hold the cable housing collar through a very tight opening.

You can just try pulling the cable at any point. Both, Twist lever and pull cable housing on the stuck side.

When you get it open, zip tie that cable to the collar.

I only have about a 1" gap where I'm prying into my HFab tailgate storage. I'm gonna try with some extra log picks and then make some coat hangar tools. Finger crossed...I'm supposed to be at Laguna Seca with this rig prepped for a weekend on the track tonight, and much of my gear is in the drawers.
