Yes...

They are not intercooled however. That is a custom project.

Any update on the possibility of an intercooler kit for the TRD S/C? If not, I'll end up shamlessly stealing the good ideas already posted. But if all I had to do was click 'buy it now'...well:hhmm:

I was talking on the phone with baktash the other day discussing turbo kits and intercooler. We were crunching numbers in regards to cost of a turbo vs. supercharger... in the beginning the supercharger wins in cost, until you pay a dealer to install (not necessary unless you want some warranty protection) and then add a intercooler, the associated coolant tank, pump and plumbing and you are back almost even with the turbo.

Do you mind sharing your pricing. I considered a turbo before I did my SC and could not come close to SC $$ with a turbo setup.

sounds like that is if you are using an air to water intercooler, air to air would be cheaper, and no offense meant to baktash but reviews of his products have been sketchy at best. I would personally rather wait for landtanks intercooler if I am going to do it at all or just deal with not having an intercooler.

I have seen his exhaust and it appears to be very nice work.

We were talking about water cooled intercooler. You should figure $1500 minimum for a water-air intercooler system from what i have been reading and studying.

I don't think anyone has had any issues with the quality of Baktash's work. I have seen their quality first hand and the guys do very good work. The issue has been with timeliness of shipping/delivery. Which I know they are trying to work on. In the past all the 80 series exhausts were hand made, now the large sections are computer mandrel bent. When I was there they were shipping 10 full exhausts out and had another 90 on the shelves.

Concrete Jungle I have photos of the most recent 80 they have turbo'd with air/water Intercooler. PM your address if you want me to mail them to you.

On EMS...I ordered their exhaust and had it at my door inside of 10 days. And it is very nice...

On intercoolers...I went air to air for simplicity, figuring anything is better than nothing. Seems to work fine, as subjective as that is.

It just dawned on me, wasn't there a thread that discussed the problem with using silicone before the MAF because it screws up the MAF sensor?

the hose would be after the MAF? right.....

question: is it necessary for the tube before the intercooler to be solid pipe? or can it be flexible tube? I have a bunch of the rubber exhaust tubing that people use for the 40 intakes here and was thinking it would work perfectly and flex enough for the tight bends needed....

Just installed this intercooler today

I also have a smaller pulley on the super charger, truck ran just fine before the intercooler install, now it starts up runs fine for a little bit then wants to die like it is starving for air, when I rev it up to about 2000 RPM's it seems to run great.

As soon as I let off the gas it starts wanting to die. Any Ideas on what is going on?? It is a smaller intercooler than the one Blarson used here on this thread.

Thanks
Seth

Manifold vacuum? Is the bypass hanging up?

Manifold vacuum? Is the bypass hanging up?

I am not sure, went for test drive and as long as the rpm's are up around 1800 or higher it runs real nice , as soon as I slow down to stop the engine is missing and wanting to die and the brakes dont work well at all.

How do I check the bypass??

Thanks
Sethro

The bypass is the vacuum actuated valve on the side of the throttle body adapter. Make sure the arm off the pot can travel fully without hitting anything. Do you have a vacuum gauge?

I just checked the arm, I can open it easy with my finger and is smooth through out the range of motion, no hang ups, yes I have a vacum gauge.
