Resurecting an old thread!

Any long term progress reports of these "on-top" intercooler builds?

Yeah...S/C still in the basement at my mom's house...but, I do actually think it will happen this summer. And really let's think positive here, it WILL happen, I'm going to start sourcing some parts after a trip I have next month...don't know if there would really be much benefit, but I'm going to prolly see if I cannot get one set up with I/C sprayers too for long hill climbs in the summer months. Should be easy to mount an extra washer bottle to fill with water for the cooler and then get that switch from an STI:

...so darn many things to do to this truck and so little time.

ive got a spray kit i was gona put on my subi PM me if interested

Kudos on this creative project! I am a Supra TT guy as well as a FZJ80 buff. I am taking a slightly different tack here in the next year or so based on I-cooler experiences with Supras. I am going to have Bell Bell Intercoolers Air to Air Inter-cooler Tank Selection make a top mount with the inlet outlet to accommodate the positions of the inlet and the supercharger outlet once it is installed. Likely I'll use the K (right lower tank) from the supercharger and the E for (left or upper) connection to the throttle body area, http://www.bellintercoolers.com/pages/AATank.html Thanks for the good read, cheers!

Hey I went to visit Bret in SLC and he cut my hood and mounted the scoop and everything. He was great and it has been a super addition.

I think I read somewhere you switched to a STI hood scoop, did you? If so anyway of getting a picture and year model info, I want to do this for sure and wanted to see the new scoop first

so what kinda difference does that charger make over the stock 1fz-fe engine power?

My friend plans to enter a rally with an 80 series LC and he has two options. Either a 1fz-fe with this charger or a 2uz-fe so which one should it be?

Some one told me that this charger give 100 bhp? is that true?

Please help. Thanks.:)

I can't say what the numbers on Blarsen's SC Horsepower are as we have never dino'd it. I can say, having driven and wheeled in both my stock 1fz and his SC 1fz, it is a world of difference. He is pushing a J-spring lift and 35's and it has torque and power all day long. He is going 75 up freeway inclines that I am hammering out 55mph on. Oh, and he's towing while doing it.

I would say the gain in power is all it is reported to be. His temps are great due to the Cooler and I am collecting my pennies to repeat his project some day...

It is a very nice difference. It makes the big 80 with a big lift and big tires feel stock.

Yep, that's the one I REALLY liked. What year Isuzu Trooper was that? And I'm guessing you'd hafta buy the entire hood, since if it's an OEM scoop, it was built into the hood, not sold separately...
