It was a busy day. After our Men’s breakfast this morning I had 2 oil changes to get done. Then I removed the aftermarket exhaust system and installed the OEM system. I am much happier with the sound level inside the car with the top up. Then it was time to take 👸🏻 out for her birthday dinner.

For those interested in these items, there is a new Hotwheel on the market.

Thanks and good luck 🍀👍🏻
My wife and I are planning on moving next year. After reading your thread, I think I want to find a house with a shop already existing. Luckily, that's not uncommon where we're moving. Beautiful shop and beautiful projects.

I turned my attention to something a little different today. I have been interested in flatheads for awhile and this one was in the right price range. It’s locked and may never run again. But it will be a cool piece of shop art.
I pressure washed it as soon as I got home.

I couldn’t hardly pass on this one for the price.
It was over in Moulton.
Later one w/ removable bell housing. That's the one to get. I've been wanting one too but trying to be good.

In March I picked up this cell phone signal booster at a neighborhood yard sale. It was $10.00 and worked when parked 😉 It didn’t come with the small transformer power supply 🤷🏻‍♂️ With a little research, and $13.00 shipped, I had one in hand. March and April were very busy and not in a good way.

Yesterday I assembled and tested it. With all shop doors shut, I had very good signal in the entire shop. Even in the office with it’s walk through door shut. I actually had better signal than no booster with all doors open.

So I installed it. It took about 5 hours to get a spot to pass through the exterior wall. Then another hour to complete the rest of the installation. A chore that will pay great dividends this winter.

Roger that, Greg! We tried walkie-talkie’s, but it was troublesome keeping them charged and remembering to turn them off. I also decided it would be handy to be able to search the inter webs with the doors shut. ;)

It makes a difference using technology. You may try to go without but it sucks you in. Instead of using the digging equipment while it was here, I waited until the pole barn was done and then hand trenched a 140’ long conduit for phone, cable tv and wi-fi. It was not good work for an old guy but each foot made me realize the net result would be very worth it. I’d spent too many years in the last decade wi-fi’ ing the heck out of everything and not communicating in the polebarn is self sabotaging….good job!

I have used pretty much that exact equipment in our last house, and in my new shop building, and I ran 75-ohm coax all throughout the house we are building so that I could install the same in there - but then I discovered "calling over wi-fi", and for me that has worked WAY better than the cell phone boosters. So much better, that I just covered all of the coax outlets in the walls of the new house, and turned off power to the booster in the shop. If you have decent internet, it's another option anyway, and one that requires no extra wiring, no exterior or interior antennas, and no power supply.

Installed similar in my shop a couple months ago after I figured out it was lack of cell signal that was killing my battery. I've got wifi in the shop and use that for calling but it helps with the battery issue. Problem is I'm in a bad area so signal is weak to begin with and now that trees have leafed out it's often non-existent.

Hard to believe this in NJ but we also have a bad signal…. So much so that Verizon studied our lack of service about 6 years ago and offered to cancel out service contact on the cell phones due to poor signal and frequent dropped calls. Thats when we activated “wi-fi calling” and use it exclusively here around the house. Had to hard wire the fios extender in the Pole barn thought to get the extender running… it is terrific and provides the connectivity seamlessly between the house and the shop. Voice powered lighting controls come in handy at night for illuminating the walk over and getting into the building with the lights on.

Fellas thank you for the input, while I admit a certain level of dependency on technology, we are not as “connected” as most people. We don’t have any hardwired connection to the internet for our residence, even though fiber is available. The wife and I use our phones as hotspots, to access the internet for our iPads and the home computer. We simply don’t need better access for our personal level of use. So the cell signal booster make the most sense for me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We have to have the fastest internet on the planet. If my wife can’t log into Amazon fast enough, I have to hear about it all day…🙄

Just kidding…
