Very nice work. I agree with maxamillion2345 it does not look like you are over your head at all. You are rocking it from what I can see. I completely get the "new parts" bug you talked about earlier. Keep up the great work. Hope to have mine on the road in a few more weeks. Paint will be last. What color are you going with? Took the sky blue and changed to Olive Green.

This is the part I really like; finishing up the little details with a little elbow grease.

I took my old side skirt emblems and carefully put them to the polishing wheel. Once that was done, I masked off the "Landcruiser" script and painted them satin black. Then it just took a dab of acetone on a rag to wipe the paint off the lettering and they look great.

Big weekend.

Got the color laid down. Had a lot of trouble with the reducer flashing off too quick (ambient temps got too high), leaving us with epic orange peel. So, we just put down 4 heavy coats and I'll color sand it out.

Lots of work. Now I know why paint jobs cost an arm and a leg.

YIKES!

Lots of this:

... and finally got it looking like this:

Wow, great job.! You make me jealous. Wish I had your talent. Was closing in on the finish line on mine and blew the motor yesterday. Now I have a pile of scrap metal so am beyond frustrated. Guess it was not meant to be. Good luck with yours.

WOW! This is your first ? Nah, you've got lots of experience. Your Cruiser looks awesome! You are awesome! Thanks for this meticulous thread. It will come in handy as I tackle my first!

Looks fantastic! Love the color. Great job!

Thanks guys!

All that's left is the restoration of the hard top and assembly of the doors now.

I took it for a quick jot this morning and was grinning ear to ear. I've got lots of little bugs to sort out, but that will come with time. I'm just happy to have an assembled and [moderately] functional truck!

Great Job! Im working on taking my fiberglass roof off now. I need to repair cracks from when the previous owner drove without the benefit of bolting down the hard top and it flipped off like a baseball hat in a stiff wind... So stress cracks and surface scratches need to be fixed with Bondo and sanding and fiberglass repair. Then new headliner and seals. I actually having fun doing it!

This is very impressive work. I am looking at getting back into the 40 game. It will be my 3rd so I know exactly what I want. I am looking at several that are restored and this thread will help me in looking over the potentials. I thought about buying a good starter, but I don't have the skills or patience you do.
