simmer down people
No name calling or attacks. This is all subjective future looking and no one really knows anything until the actual vehicle is announced, so please chill out so us Moderators don't have to put our drinks down and moderate...
I deleted all the posts about the economy- Take it to chat. This is still tech even though we are discussing what could be. what we hope it will be .. etc..
This is advertising work which isnt appropriate in Tech . There is a section in the Classifieds for Small Store Front which would be more appropriate
I deleted your phone number. Please refrain from posting obvious advertising in the Tech...
I'm going to start by saying that I was seriously against getting an EV when it was time to replace my last car. I had been driving various 3 Series BMWs for the last 9 years or so. Our lease was up on our 2018 340iX and the local BMW dealer made...
When I took the radio out, the GPS connector was loose, not real loose though. Rather than tightening it, I went with what looks like a better antenna to me. The one with the radio had a real long cable whereas the new one was only 20". Long...
I am thinking of going with this. The one bad review is because the cable was too short for them, 20" seems perfect for my application. Besides, there was one review from an Android radio owner that said it boosted his signal strength

it isn't in the fin on the top. It is inside the dash.
pity as that would have provided much better reception. I am going to go with a puck that I can mount on the Mesh Head Unit Grill on top of thee dash
I'm not sure which specific Tesla style unit you have, but mine uses an SMA connector. You may need a different adapter for your 2014, but I was able to use the following adapter on my 2020 LC to use the factory GPS antenna...
That is an interesting option. Did you go straight or right hand connector?
Where is the Antenna Located? I think it is in the fin on the top with the satellite radio antenna?
I didn't have the best GPS startup offroading in Utah. It took a while, but once it did connect to satellites it would track well
Last time I worked on the radio I noticed the connector had come loose. I am guessing that is what is happening...
Interesting. It looks like Toyota and Lexus are behind the Pack when it comes to Fast Charging. I did a quick search on this so numbers are what I found and not stating 100% fact as an expert
Fast Charging is where Toyota/Lexus flails compared...
It looks like Rivian is doing well. I know someone who had a friend wheel White Rim for 3 days with him and had no issues. Scott Bradys Review shows great promise
Not sure what the range would be towing a 5000lb trailer over two mountain...
Thread is closed as it took a larger tangent into pure chat. Ok to discuss the technical deltas between the Rivian and 200, but the last 3 pages have been vaccines, politics etc. Not cool in tech
Thanks! That is very helpful
Does Obtain outdoor temperature online require internet access? That is one thing that these units don't display is outside temperature even though the car sensers are still there
After 10 minutes or so of looking, I can't find the post on the Facebook group (that I'm pretty sure exists) that has the list. That's one of the downsides of Sergey's mod - all of the discussion is on Facebook which is a really terrible (IMHO)...
