Ah the steak from Florence, Italy
I have eaten at Buca Mario several times in Florence. On their menu it’s simply “Bistecca”….for however many you specify.

Winters, Ca is at 38.5249° N

Spokane lies at 47.6580° N (Canada infamously lies at the 48th parallel.)

St. Petersburg, Russia, Helsinki, Finland and Anchorage, Alaska (all of which I’ve been to in winter) are all at about 60° N. Most of Siberia is North of 60° N. So Siberia is more North of Spokane than Spokane is of where you live.

It’s cold in Spokane. It’s bitter cold in Siberia.

You were probably at O’Doherty’s on Spokane Falls Blvd. Fun bar. Don’t try to get in on St. Patty’s day, you have to know someone.

So getting sent to Siberia, really was punishment

The weather was one problem. Siberia, which means “sleeping land,” is notorious for the length and severity of its almost snowless winters: in Sakha, temperatures of −90 °F have been recorded.

But there was also the fact that you were sentenced to forced labor, and your fellow prisoners had lice, TB, etc.

And no land cruisers.

Shaping up to be a great day, on plane to Denver then Grand Junction. Wife and I planning on having a road trip in a special vehicle.

Gonna post more as this adventure develops!
Suspense!!!
