I’m just behind you at 53 but I am close with my dad who is approaching 80 and see the projects that remain. He calls it the stack of calendars and it’s getting thin…just how life works. He is very conscious of the remaining projects and the ones that he will never complete, the other night he looked around his shop and asked me what to do with it all, meaning he wants to deal with it rather than leave it for us boys to sort through. It’s a tough chat.

Getting a running project to enjoy isn’t a horrible idea, just can be tough to find.
My $00.02 is to keep a project or two to tinker on, you’ve been busy with the shop build and move etc…give it some time and the projects will be there when your ready to tinker in your amazing shop.

Mom just turned 80 2 weeks ago and my dad is 81. I’m lucky enough to have them slowly moving their way to the farm full time. While you were typing this dad was trying to find tree to park his car under for the shade since they only have one car garage. Trying to convince him it was ok to park in the large shop was almost comical. Dad is gonna work his butt off piddling around his new house here until he is under the ground and that’s the way he wants it.

Seriously though, I'm a few years ahead of you and already realizing that it's not easy to get things done by others these days or to get a lot done by yourself. I try to do what I enjoy and farm everything else out. Unfortunately it takes deep pockets these days though to farm a lot of things out.

Agree Greg, I never intended on having to farm things out to be completed. That wasn't the intent at all but the reality of it is that it's the only way things will get done. I should shift putting money into the only thing that can be lost quicker and that flying again!!

Greetings from the Black Hills Cruiser Classic!

One fun thing that happens up here is a swim race that I participate in.
This year a local station came up to cover the event and they wanted to talk to me! (After I put my clothes back on)
