So many open project here in the Yukon, but very slowly inching forward on the red pig, a few more days until the last of the exhaust bits arrive and maybe, just maybe a first shake down run after two years of nothing. On the upside, I found a cheap 53' sea can that will serve as an interim shop and eventually be one side of a 30x50 shop - then sh*t will get real and I can actually get some project properly on track - including the '75 40 I just found...

My 20 footer has been a great storage spot. Full of Cummins swap bits and landcruiser goodies.

Got two 20' full of our belongs in the yard, can't wait to build house and get rid of them but one like @YukonCruisers has is super cool and I could use as large oven with the 103 temp we are having today, heat index 110-115.

The plan for mine is, convince the territorial Building Safety folks that it's on solid ground (there are no guidelines, they say get the city to approve, city says they don't do that for engineers structures - can't get the two levels of gov to talk to each other). Anyway, once they approve, electrify and start using, next year (maybe) pour a pad beside it, the year after run a 2x6 wall on top of the seacan and slope to opposite side pony wall - or do a cathedral truss. Should give me enough height for a lift and potentially mezzanine space on top of the seacan.... best laid plans anyway.

@scrapdaddy - you could space those and run a flat roof between for two more 55s - see that all the time here and in AK; how you like your wood boiler? we burn 12 - 15 cords a year in ours.

That's where my meat rabbits are going, they will be @ 8 feet apart and then on top of that the solar panels. I love the outside wood furnace. My whole adult life I've heated with wood and this setup is by far the best and easiest. We keep some on hand...

Underground gun range.

I know a guy who built a gun range under his back yard in town using plastic culvert. He could shoot up to 30 yards from his soundproofed basement and noone could tell.

That works until you have to go into the cess pit under the Fremont hotel to service the lift pumps.

Let’s just say, “Satan’s hole” and “hip waders required”, and the 12’ overhead dripping on you is and leave it at that.

Mike Rowe used to have a show, “Dirty Jobs”. Someone once asked him what the worst of them was, and it was the pig farm in North Las Vegas.

I used to service the pump there, too. Pigs everywhere. If you stop moving they gather around you. Pigeverywhere, very slippery. The smell is inescapable.

But the pig farm was way better than the cesspit under the Fremont hotel or the leech-covered lift pumps at the sewage treatment plants.

Lunch break? I don’t think so.

I used to do laudry mats, not as bad as hole. They can be pretty bad. I also did a roof on a pen after a Hurricane blew it off. This was'nt a small farm (1,000s all different ages.) So i am familiar with the smell and how slippery the rafters are. Took months to get the Smell of out of my truck.
