I bought a cheap gauge holder off of eBay and will install my gauges where the stock stereo goes. I have one of those Smittybilt consoles that will hold my Alpine head unit.

I have room to run a hose out from the turbo. I'm probably going to use a silicone elbow to route it. Nothing definite yet.

Thanks J. I used one of those in an old FJ40 I had. Unfortunately, the inlet into the turbo is pretty small. Like 2-2.5" diameter.

With a little help from @Spallet, I got the pig to start up. Needed a new fuel filter, battery, and a whole lot of time purging the air out. Had some tools clanking on top and a loose belt, but not bad for an engine that hasn't been used in two years. :)

COOL!!!!! There is nothing like the sound of that first startup!!!

How did you purge the fuel lines?

Cracked the top banjo bolt and manually pumped the lift pump. Then cracked two of the injector lines and cranked the engine. Mauricio (spallet) came over and we used the jumper cables and his battery for some extra cranking power.

The old fuel filter was full of old stinky bodiesel.

most excellent senor Dave! purging can be fun on diesels. I had to do my Kubota after changing the fuel filter, took a little longer than expected since the bleeder valve didn't work, but once done it purred like a kitten.

so what's next to get it to the inspection table?

Well, there are some leaks I need to take care of. I have some coolant leaking from somewhere and my valve cover is leaking oil (even has a new gasket).

This morning, I fired it up and found out that my new chrome alternator isn't spinning. The belt was shrieking like crazy. Add one more thing to the list.
