The day both my wallet and I was dreading. The day when the roof comes off. The inner rails are in okay condition for what it is.

What's the plan, just fix the rot and reuse the outer skin again or build from scratch a new top? I look forward to watching the progress.

I would be amazed if they could re-use the outer skin, but I am always amazed at what y'all are pulling off in here!

Probably how everyone’s inner roof frame looks. I get little chunks of rust that break loose and fall out every time roll the tub upside down and beat on something with a hammer. It’ll have to survive with some inner frame coating douched in it ‘cause the roof ain’t coming off unless there’s absolutely no other choice.

Someone (heavy equipment operator) once said, "let it hatch". Meaning instead of chasing yourself silly to fix the slightest little issue, let it become a bigger issue, then fix it. Not sure that applies to all situations (ER medicine for one).

Someone else said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

My motto is usually, "If it ain't broke, I will fix it until it is broken!"

Rear corners and A Pillar corners will be replaced. My sheet metal guy has access to the tools to hopefully roll the sides in one peice (going to get him to jott down some dimensions for this thread & forum)

Roof will likely be used again, however with the access to steel I may end up doing an entire new roof.

I toyed with the idea of a fibreglass pop top, but engineering in AUS is hard enough to pass as it is.

Brave soul. I just opted for squirting cavity wax in and hope it will prevent enough rust that the pig makes it to a time when my heirs can deal with it.

Celebrated the 30th birthday over the weekend. The Cheese and Kisses (Girlfriend or Missus "Mrs") surprised me with the new UHF for the 55.

Thats earned her a couple of brownie points.

She sounds like a keeper!

Anytime someone mentions the Rubber Duck, gotta break out the Convoy:

"Yeah, this here's the Rubber Duck, looks like we got ourselves a convoy!"

#facebookmarketplace delivering the goods once again. 5x BF Goodrich KM2 285/75R16 for a great deal. Even came on 100 series Landcruiser rims! Seller even happened to be my mate's dad. Crazy small world!
