My dad’s 55 in my avatar had this setup with the 327, was quirky- if you were on the reserve tank you had to back up steep hills. I think it had a manual selector under the dash, I remember there was a fuel door cut in the drivers front fender.

Next on the list I will be attempting to bend up some pipe for a rear quater slider. This is the style Ill be after. Welded right to the Tow Bar. Thoughts?

Looks pretty sweet, but I’ll be interested to hear how much of a pain the install is, getting the frame end of the slider mounts around the rivets and rear tub mounts while sliding the receiver in at the same time. My old bumper/receiver was kinda similar and used to like to fight going in and coming out.

Got some time today to hit the metal suppliers.
Ill be giving welding a shot with a Rear Bar and Sliders. 6mm I Beam, 40x40 SHS and 40nb Tube (3.2mm Wall Thickness)

Also borrowed a tube bender from my dad. Hidden deep in the shed behind the boomerang and woomeras.

And found these 40nb 180* bends ready to be welded.

Now to figure out Winch Placement and how to incorporate to the Chassis. Downloaded a schematic but its clear Ill need to build this on the car.

I've gone through your build a couple of times in anticipation of building mine, its coming along really well.
I was wondering what the overall height of your 55 was. I'm thinking the 75 series springs are the way to go, and was thinking of a set of Parabolics from Westralia springs, but it might not fit in my carport!

Hey Mate! Ill shoot you a measurement over the weekend. Itll be sitting on 2" lifted 75 Series Springs, Standard Shackles and 33 inch tyres. Its roughly 2100/2200mm from memory with about 100kg of gear, full fuel tank and spare tyre.

Looks ship-shape mate, keep up the good work!

Cheers, did you have to redrill the rear springs? And what bushes did you use.

Hey mate.
HZJ75 Springs need the rear leafs perches moved back 100mm or so. Didn't move the front.

Diffs ended up 3inches further apart, but no issues with clearence, just need a longer front tail shaft.

Works started on the rear bar using an Old version of CAD (Cardboard Assisted Design). However I didn't like what I had and will leave it for another day.

Thanks for that, food for thought. Rest of the work is looking good.

Found the rear heater pipework leaking. Easy solution - now I don't have a rear heater.

Here's me practising my well trained form of Bikepig Yoga.

Also made good progress on the floor pans however found more rust.
And like a long mullet haircut, buisness at the front & party at the back.
