Hey Chris it’s a crate 6.2 LS3 with H55/ splitcase behind it. I think you saw it at the shop when you dropped off your 45.

I started a build thread on it but sadly never finished it. It’s been with the owner Rich for about a year half now. He drives it daily and all over.

Very nice! Is this new to you or did you do all the conversion work on the truck? Congrats!
Ha! I wish I had the talent to do this work. All of this work was done by JP Virgo (Clemson Cruiser) at Preservation Land Cruisers. It was a departure from his exceptional concours work, but it is a daily driver and summer beach truck and was designed and built for those purposes. When I pass someone doing 90 mph on the highway, I get some very curious looks. Thank you JP for building this rig!

Awesome rig, I remember that build. JP is a master.

But I’m curious about that interior rearview mirror JP @ClemsonCruiser .

Hey Paul. Thanks for the kind words 😎

That’s a factory mirror but the windshield frame itself is from a ‘67. We swapped to the later windshield because Rich wanted to easily be able to fold down the windshield as he does a bunch of beach driving. The ‘65 has those defrosts vent that go through the windshield frame into the dash making it a PITA to fold down.

Ladies and Gentiles,

I'm currently working on a web based FJ45 registry that was started by rick_d. Orangfj45 took over where rick_d left off and I offered to help orangefj45 soon after that. I'm currently in need of your vehicle statistics so that I can fill in my list and start to debug the database. Any help from you guys would be great. If you do not want to share your info in the public forum please feel free to PM or e-mail it to me bull@toymoco.com. Please note we will not use your info for any other purpose.

The registry will allow users to see exactly how many known 45s are out there and their general location. Other features of the site will help educate owners on which year they own exactly, what options offered etc. Once the registry is live online we will post a link to this group for testing.

How rare would you say ? . I have researched but never really found any numbers of what was and is out there. The cab is actually 3.5 inches longer and the bed this amount shorter than non removable top.

From my limited research…

They were the shortest run of 45’s and only made for 2 years (US Spec). I know nothing about them in the other markets.

The production numbers are highly speculated. I’ve never seen exact numbers and I’m not aware that Toyota ever released them.

Even the experts can’t agree on the LV production numbers or even how many are left.

As far as I know MUD has the largest collection state side of known 45’s so I’d loosely base numbers off of that and then add X?

Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I can chime in.

Either way JP’s builds are super impressive!
