Hi

I'm replaced tie rod ends on my '73 FJ40. In doing so I did not measure the entire length of the old one before disassemble. Now after installed the new tie rod ends I don't know the exact length.
My 40 is all factory stock suspensions and tires.

Does anyone know the length from one end of the Tie End rod to the other?

Thanks

I don't have FJ40 FSM

Here you go
Tie-rod = 1205mm (47.44 in.)
Relay rod = 827mm (32.56 in.)
Drag link = 855mm (33.66 in.)
Toe-in = 3-5mm (0.12-0.20 in.)

it seem there is different specs for the relay rod adjust length , here on mud , haynes , FSM :hmm:

For the tie rod and drag link there is no confusion , all different source give the same specs

relay rod length that i found

1- 827mm or 32.56 in. (impossible in my case , ends threaded all the way in and still longer than this)
2- 842mm or 33.1 in. ( perfect for my bj42 , about 1/4'' threads left exposed )

so i think the #2 is the right spec for the 40 serie
