FYI - on my 97 you definitely had to trim to fit it in any of the knockouts.

Got it all wired up and it works great but the dash knockout needed to be trimmed for width and the coin knockout needed to be trimmed for width and to make the material a little thinner on the ends so that the barbs would bite. Mine are ignition hot on a relay circuit so no parasitic draw when off. They work great.

Just to piggyback on what @hammerheadfistpunch said. I too got this to fit in the coin slots with minor modification. I had to file about 0.5-1.0mm on both sides of the cutout. In addition to this I filed about 1mm on the top and bottom from the lip of the charger.

Fits like a glove.
Measurement of USB charger:

Measurement of coin slots. Notice the wider section at the top of the cutout. You basically file this smooth.

Cutout filed and ready for the USB charger:

File top and bottom of lip on charger. See the red arrows. I filed mine so the plastic was even with the rubber gasket.

That oem Toyota one is not versatile. Requires another expensive cable with an odd ball JAE connector. And doesn't plug into 12v. Only into a late Toyota radio.

It's really just an aux/USB in to an oem radio.

The USB portion only needs a regular usb cable, it's the aux connection needs the fancy cable that only goes to Toyota radio......as far as I read on the forums and some pictures on the intertube.
