I'm gonna get flamed for this but I have Jeep TJ flares on my 40. $20 used take-offs from the local 4Wheel Parts.

I'd use those... look better than many other options.

I might have to hang out with some jeep owners to find out where to get the deals... last time I called around, the places that had them wanted stupid amounts of money for them... meanwhile a friend who happens to own a jeep recently got two front stock bumpers for free, and the shop she got them from refused to accept any payment.

Other than TJ Flairs, I'd normally say you couldn't pay me enough to bolt Jeep parts to my 40... wonder what happened... I guess it's hard to screw up a plastic flair... although they fit like they were made for a 40

I'd like to see a pic of then installed SBG. Did you trim the inner round part to fit the squared opening?

a couple caveats.... I moved the axle back 2 1/2" and 2 - I shorted the rear side to match the bottom of the fender - honestly the hardest part was getting the coating off so I could weld it.... with that said, it took very little time compared to getting busy with a pipe bender

this picture should give you a good "before"

my goodness that thing was a lot of work, what was I thinking? ;)

Nice, I've seen them without coating and was curious how they would fit. I dig it!

Hey mate,

Long story short, the guy that was making them is no longer doing it. I went through the process about 6 months ago trying to source more. Eventually found one new set (wasn't cheap) which I still have sitting here.

Ironically I have chosen to go in a different direction, but if anyone is interesting in producing them I have a set to use as a mould/template.

Cheers
hi there,
do you still have these flares by any chance?
cheers,
Paul

@myquestoyota
Are you wanting a fender flare that is flat. Fast Eddy made a set that look good.

*Edit* oops missed the origional post date:D

If I've got some time over a beer later I'll do a photo-chop for you.

Also, they'd fit/work better if you moved your axle back, even if just by drilling your perches 1" or 1.5" forward. Look at how much room you have between your body seam and your tire, then look at my rig here:

You can kind of eyeball where it bolts with respect to the marker light too.

Love your fat steelies.
