Fat Amy Gets a Set of 37" Tires

They are a bit worn yes, and I've considered that. The Toyos I'm looking at run thinner than advertised, so a new set may contact less.

@JamesC , thanks for the offer, but I'm not a big fan of the MTRs ride so far.

The KDSS brackets are not in the website; the verdict is still out as to whether or not they are worth the strain you put on your components. And yes, I have a differential drop.

FWIW I'm running 37" BFG KO2s (actually measure 35.5" mounted), and they're extremely light (68 pounds I believe) and smooth and quiet for that size tire. They replaced 315/70/17 Duratracs which were excellent tires too, but these are even smoother and more comfortable. I think both of the tires I just mentioned would work great on your setup since you already have 17s. If you were local I'd let you try each out since I have both sets still!

I was under the impression that the KDSS bracket was the price to play for 35's other than the tundra swap option. You don't have them with your 35's?

Truck looks incredible... the truck soaks up those 37's for sure.

I have them, yes.

WINNING!!!

Need a side shot from 20' away

This is great to see... the 200 chassis handles 37" tires very well... They were a walk in park for my Tundra, normal driving was easy, towing with SC was a breeze, off road and aired down is spectacular.

I'm pumped; still need to solve some frame rubbing. I know I could easily fix all my problems with a different offset wheel, but I really want the RWs, and I want to keep them tucked inside of the uncut factory fenders.

Love it!!

Nice going, man!!

Like this, @Willy beamin ?

looks great man - I was thinking more of broad side like a barn.

K. I'll try to get one tomorrow.

Go 39.5s then you will be living :)

Seems much easier than on the 100 series chassis. Just getting 35's created a lot of compromises. Or is it Andrew has just figured out the right recipe?

The perfect 35" recipe is a big lift, RWs, Slee Brackets, and a body lift. I was not getting any rubbing with that combo besides a tiny tiny bit on the KDSS at full lock.

Switching to 37s though, has created new challenges that still need to be overcome. I have no doubt that my increased height from the BL can allow for the increased diameter, and some cutting with an angle grinder has all but stopped the rubbing on the plastic trim. The major hurdle now, will be getting the wheels off of the frame during steering. I think this only leaves 2 options.

Option 1: Get a wheel with different back spacing that'll get the tire away from the frame. This, is what Artic Trucks does; but Artic Trucks also cut the fenders, because now, the tires stick out much further. This option, is not really an option for me, as it would require new wheels, and fender cutting, in addition to fender flares. All of which I do not want to do.

Option 2: Get a wheel spacer the perfect width, that gets the tire away from the frame, while simultaneously keeping the front tires tucked inside of the factory wheel well. I may be able to accomplish this with a set of 1.25" Spidertrax Spacers. Not sure if they would solve the problem though. I ordered a set and they should be here early next week. Fingers crossed.

I will also add that I DO NOT think that any larger tire could be used, based on the position of the KDSS arm. Just my $0.02.
