Thanks for documenting all your efforts. That is one of the things that makes this forum great. Look at the bright side, you don't need to spend the money to regear now

True; I had thought of that too. Looks like I'll be able to put those funds towards sliders, roof rack, and winch now.

I have a new update for those who did not already know. I bought some Toyo Open Country R/Ts in.....you guessed it....37/12.5/R17

From my research, the Goodyears run true to size, but the Toyos run smaller than advertised. I think it may be just small enough of a difference to allow me to keep the 37s!

I'll be getting them installed next Tuesday.

Those Toyo's weigh 7#'s more per corner than the 37" Goodyears, when are you regearing?

Lol. Better be soon, right!?

Once I get sliders and roof rack, I'll start saving my pennies for a set of Nitro Gears.

I have been real happy with Toyo's. Ran MTs for years and now running ATs. You will be happy with them

I dont know how people handle driving trucks with big tires and stock gears. Especially the 200 series. It has a super tall OD and even higher gearing than a tundra. 4.88 is sweet!

Re-gearing our race truck made a HUGE difference. The tranny is no longer hunting for gears and all the power is back. We went with 4.88s.

Nice sales pitch

That it does. And timing is everything.

And now, the next iteration of this story.

The Open Country R/Ts came in and as you can see, they are smaller in diameter than the MTRs. I got them mounted this morning.

So.....

Without further adieu:

Initial impressions:

These tires kick ass. They rub much less than the MTRs. They are SUPER quiet on the asphalt too.

I am stoked!!!!!!

Mean Green - nice job, looks great

Here's the tire on the body mount bracket; much less rubbing than before.

Looking good. how is road noise with those R/Ts as compared to mud tires? Fat Amy looks bulkier now in a good way. :)

Road noise is also completely gone. :)

@MScruiser: Man, you ACE it wif 37s!
BTW, any pics / thread on how to install a BODYLIFT? and where did you get em from?

Sorry @goodwill , no thread. It was a one-off. Body lift pucks were cut from UHMW with 1/2" hardware.
