Great thread! How is the Troa top holding up for you? Any issues over the last couple years of use? Trying to figure out soft top options on my 1975 40. Thanks for any input.

Fit and quality is good. I don't have a lot of miles on it, but no issues. I would buy another one.

With a cutoff wheel I cut reliefs where pin was stuck and they came out.Installed M8 10.9 grade bolt and welded. Should work. My guess other side will do same thing by end of summer.

Installed better windshield and hood latches. Now I dont think about the hood latches failing doing 55. Installed new shocks. The old ones were doing nothing. Probably original! Next is new shackle bushings. Am I crazy to think I can reuse the shackles?

Answered my own question both front shackle bushings replaced.
Those shackles look pretty straight, and have a fine patina. Matches everything else

Took spare tire into the shop to get a good spare. Figured good time to paint up my spare tire carrier. The original is pretty roached!

Finished installing all new leaf spring pin and shackle bushings. Everything nice and quiet.

Truck started to smoke during extended idling time. Found #5 cylinder leaking some oil through valve stem seal. Figured I will change all 41 year old seals with new this weekend.
Did this job on my 3FE. Springs may be a little different on the F/2F but I personally didn't have much luck with that spring compressor. I ended up renting the OEM Tools one from the 'Zone, YMMV and I'm sure this isn't your first rodeo. Link to my thread here.
