I picked up this 1970 non running with locked up engine. Everything seems to be mostly original. The metal in the back half is in really good shape, but the front floors and rockers need some work. My Plan is to get it running and driving similar to some of the patina builds I have seen. I pulled head, removed broken exhaust valve, put some tranny oil in the block and got the motor free. I took head to engine shop to get redone. No cracks in head. Hopefully get that back, install and have some decent compression to get this thing going.

Good plan…thanks for including the photos

Rebuilt carb, cleaned up manifolds and installed. Initially could not get spark so pulled points, cleaned and truck fired right up. It will idle with some choke. Water pump is locked up so ordering that , brake master and clutch master/slave. I have floor boards waiting and deciding what color softtop.

Oh yeah bought a spare 2f motor just in case. Probably jumped the gun on that, but nice to have spares.
Cool project, I hope you don't plan to paint anything except maybe line the new sheet metal in the floors. I like option #3 from left or #1 as second choice on soft top fabric.

Lets see some pictures of that ford. I was a day late on a '71 F250 high-boy yesterday, boy was she was a beauty. 2 tone green on new 35" swampers.

I bet you'd be amazed at how clean you can get your firewall and the interior of the engine compartment with a weekend of cleaning.

Nice project, looking forward to you it getting on the road!

I believe the entire filter unit is available- but with a metal bowl versus the original glass bowl. Will have to look and see if I saved the part number for it.

If you want to upgrade to a newer hose and fitting, I'll take that fuel fitting off yer hands.
