@efjayatee How high do those hood risers lift your hood?
About 5/8". You can reach out to @Outsane
And he can make them to what ever height you want. These are his standard height risers.

$35 comes with spacers and bolts

For those of you worried about IAT's we haven't had problems with the standard airbox configuration but a snorkel does do wonders to cut the IAT's when wheeling and airflow is stagnant. I have logged snorkel truck vs non snorkel truck on 90+F days and the difference can be upwards of 40-50 degrees, 110 snorkel vs 156 stock airbox.

No hood vents or risers on any of the trucks we've built to date and haven't had issues. Not saying they don't help, just haven't needed them. Will be interesting to see how @efjayatee 's underhood feels hopefully this upcoming week with the risers

Johny any thoughts on an under drive pulley for the water pump/ fan like the super charger guys use ?
I use one on my naturally aspirated rig and it works wonders in low speed high ambient temps on the trail.

Are you referring to the "ringed fan" that came with the supercharger or a version of the 3FE that some guys including CruiserDan used.

Ringed Fan ?
I have an under drive pulley on my 1FZ that spins the water pump and Fan faster.
The one that bolts to the water pump.
It’s my understanding that it was developed for Super charged IFZs
Cruiser Dan 80 has a 1FZ not a 3FE

Yes, the ringed fan came with the supercharger. It has a plastic ring on the outer circumference. The tips of the fan can't flex into the radiator because of the limited clearance but turns out not to be optimal for cooling.

Yes I am aware of CruiserDan's 93 supercharged vehicle. He took advantage of his parts department to sample other Toyota fans. I couldn't find the earlier reference to the 3FE fan but it looks like the 4Runner V6 was the ultimate winner.

The only reason that fan was selected for the kit is because it was an off-the-shelf Toyota fan that would fit on the clutch and not hit the radiator. It was NOT selected for it's performance properties. You should see one in it's original V6 pickup configuration. It has a very unusual shroud to go along with it in order for it to get proper air flow.

In other words, the ringed fan is a compromise at best.

The ringed fan was selected by TRD simply because it was on the shelf and would fit in the hole. In it's original configuration the ringed fan had a very specialized shroud that it interfaced with. Find an 88-92 V6 pickup and pop the hood and look at it. When used in an 80 with a 1FZ the fan is not ducted in anywhere near the same manner, therefore making it not very efficient at best.

Also in the original application it was possible for the fan to tackle the shroud thereby wiping out the shroud, the blade, the battery, radiator hoses air cleaner resonator and denting the hell out of the hood. Not he best design.

A stock clutch, similarly tuned as the above, with the TRD supplied spacer and either a 3FE fan blade or a late 3.0 V6 non-ringed fan blade. The latter blade part number is 16361-65020.

The 65020 blade moves more air than the ringed blade that came with the kit. There are trucks running the 3FE blade with apparent success but I am not comfortable spinning that blade at the higher 1FZ revs.

Good eye!

I re examined his photo and that blade is indeed different. It could also be a 16361-65020 3VZ blade as those were sometimes used to get rid of the ringed blade.

That is very likely the issue.

Who made that pulley? I haven't seen that before.

I’m not sure who made it. I sourced it from
@Photoman
It looks like it could be OEM

Does anybody have insight on the C&C turbo system with the intercooler? Re: wastegate bracket With the cold side of the turbo rotated so that it can be oriented to be intercooled the wastegate bracket doesn't line up with the mounting bolt holes anymore...

I never ran a 3FE fan blade. 1FZs have a significantly higher Rev range than 3FEs.
I have no desire to spin one of those blades that fast.

Sounds like the new waste gate bracket did not make it in your box. It’s another stainless price and It positions the wastegate up and slightly above the airbox. Will get one out to you Monday on the fast train so you can wrap up the install.

I emailed delta some time ago asking if they had any plans on making the water pump pulley. At the time the answer was no
Maybe I’ll look at producing these. @Broski any chance you’d be willing to send the over OD of the new pulley? Could probably have a proto in a week or two of this.

Typically for the fans we modify the clutches of the units we do in house. @SHELLBACK ’s stage 2 runs 180-190 on the highway and Offroad is in the 190’s
