Nice work, thanks much. OEM lift? Didn’t know that. Anyone know how Toyota modified the suspension to achieve the 45/25 height quoted above?
 
I've been playing around with my suspension again and will document my current lift height and components for future reference.

Front:
4" Dobinson's Flexi Coils (C59-614V) which are around 1.5 years old
Icon 2.5" VS (for 4-6" suspension lit) RR (57803P) no CDV
Front Drivers : 25.25" (Center of hub to bottom of fender)
Front Passenger : 25.00"

Aftermarket weight deltas : Front Metal Tech tube bumper +75 lbs, 10k winch +50lbs, 2nd battery +35lbs. Running Tom Woods DC front shaft and Slee caster correction plates. Very happy with front setup. Plush and balanced on-road and off. Planning on swapping to 3" flexi coils to bring it down an inch.

Rear:
4" Slee Medium Coils (Passenger side requires 30mm spacer to be level)
Fox 2.0" RR Custom Valved shocks from DSM
Airlift airbags
Rear Drivers : 24.5" (5psi unloaded bags)
Rear Passenger: 24.25" (5 psi unloaded bags)

Aftermarket weight deltas in rear : "Sean's" Dual swing out rear bumper +160lbs, 35" Toyo MT spare +100lbs, 63qt fridge +75lbs constant weight. Cruiser is used several times a year for dry camping for 2 weeks at a time for 2 people and dog: 15 gal fuel, 15gal water, gear, food, etc. Uncertain on weights but it is enough to load down the truck to require 30psi in the bags to bring it up to avoid hitting bumpstops on desert roads.

Are you sure that your rear springs are in the proper location? The need for a 30mm spacer on either side seems odd especially on the passenger since the vehicle is naturally heavier on the driver side. I run Slee heavies and a 10mm spacer on the driver side rear to help level it laterally.
 
@baldilocks Yep, I use the slightly taller springs on drivers side... but after a year or so, the passenger drops down about 1". This is the 3rd time it has happened as I've swapped different springs. I think it is because my rear bumper is very heavy and the Toyo hangs off the passenger side.
 
Just wanted to share my experience with the Dobinsons variables in 45mm lift height (220/269 combo). They raised my bone stock 1992 3FE about .75 inches, not 1.5-2” as advertised. I’ve measured them multiple times after 3 weeks of driving on them daily. I am de-flared and the hub-to-flare height is about 21-21.75 in front, and 21.5- 22 in rear. Before install the heights averaged 21”. I read stock height of about 20” with flares, 21” without (Though 3FE rumored to be taller).

I believe the 3fe is almost 600 lbs heavier than the 1fz so I’m guessing that is the culprit (door jam reads GVWR 6525, GAWR FRT 3305 RR 3970)

I’ve measured them multiple times after 3 weeks of driving on them daily. I am de-flared and the hub-ww height is about 21-21.75 in front, and 21.5- 22 in rear. Before install the heights averaged 21”. I read stock height of about 20” with flares, 21” without (Though 3FE rumored to be taller).

I believe the 3fe is almost 600 lbs heavier than the 1fz so I’m guessing that is the culprit (door jam reads GVWR 6525, GAWR FRT 3305 RR 3970) Seems to me I need some heavy duty coils instead. Tapered or dual rate? I thought I did enough research before hand but...

If a 3fe owner wants 1.5-2 inches of lift above stock height and will be running with 24 extra gallons of fuel and a winch on stuck bumper what’s he to get for his DD/adventure rig? Bummer to have to squeeze them out again and pay for shipping but I don’t think spacers are going to cut it. Thoughts? I need some guidance here cause I didn’t get it right.

Most, if not every, Dobinson spring has lifted the installers vehicle more than advertised. Your report is out of the norm.

Also, the 3fe does not weight 600# more than the 1fz. That would put the 3fe at nearly 1200#. The 3fe might weigh 100# more. Someone here knows for sure.

From you numbers, it sounds like your rig was tall to start and the Dobinsons gave you the height they advertised. (Very close to what OME 2" mediums gave me) How much more height do you want, in terms of center to hub measurement? If it's less than an inch, I'd just get a quality spacer set.

Your paint looks good, btw.
 
Since the standard center-of-hub measurement is not applicable to non-flare rigs I’ve included my bump stop lengths. Anyone ever measured the length a flare hangs down below the body? Would be helpful. This must be one reason the factory uses the inside coil measurement (on pg1).

So here are the numbers (mm) following the 45mm “lift” taken inside the coils as per factory protocols:

LF 47
RF 51
LR 57
RR 55

Any body got comps for this? OME or otherwise.

That's what I feel too. The lift height does look correct, as compared to this guy too, running 2" coils front and rear with stock size tires, although heavier load coils to suit the early engine and rear swing out on the back

As a reference for others, I measured the flare body holes and distance on flare b/w stud and bottom. According to my measurements:

the rear flares hang down 15 mm (95mm: hole to fender rim, 110 stud to bottom of flare at center hole)
the front flares hang down 5-10 mm, (they are curved a bit) spanning 30mm hole to fender bottom and 40 stud to flare bottom

Darren @AutoCraft Aus thank you for sharing the rate of Woody's 80 series 50mm front Patrol coils in this thread post here Slinky Long Travel Suspension Systems of 160/240 lbs.
With such a low COG and tall free height that allows the longer 28" shock, I believe this to be a true little hidden jem.
It seems to be more like a Intermediate coil rather than a HD coil though. To suite lightly loaded 80s, does Slinky offer a true 50mm rear intermediate coil?

Swapped from my Current 75mm INT to 50mm INT fronts. Slinky doesn't currently offer a rear 50 INT as they just recommend the 75mm INT rear.

Rear has no 3rd row, a single ARB drawer basically empty and a labs rear/wilco solo.

Definitely stink bugging, so I might swap into Dobinsons 50mm Tapered.

Can you feel a difference from the 240# rate 50mm coils vs. the 260# rate 75mm coils?

As for the Dobinson rear Tapered 2" coils you mentioned... people are reporting 1" more than advertised of 2". Being you took out weight in the rear I would reconsider the purchase of those coils because I believe you would be about the same as you are now.

I have a recommendation to entertain the thought of a tall free height 2" dual rate rear coil Trail Taylor has. I have no reports of true actual height, but its an option I would pursue if you want to lower the rear of you 80. This also could be a hidden jem.

It is the TDC-949/2F 550/535mm converts to 21.85"/ 21.06" which is approx. same as a Slinky rear 75mm coil.
The top part of the coil is 13mm then tapers up to 18.5mm with a rate of 170-250# which is 10#s less than a 75mm Slinky Int. coil.

I had a OME stock height replacement rear coils that was a 170-250# rate & it work great with my empty & loaded 80.

@reevesci what amount of lift is you 2" rear standard TourFlex coil giving in a lightly loaded 80?
