I bolted a bicycle drink bottle holder to my dash, works well, bit 'howyagoin'. But I don't think that style suits your wardrobe mate..

Similar setup in my 47! a bit of PVC pipe with an end cap.

Shiny new 76 series mirrors fitted

Whoops.. I had the rear and front braking circuits swapped... the rears were locking up under light braking and the fronts barely working.. after swapping them it now pulls up amazingly well. A factory baselined 60 braking system works very well!

Rebled the brakes and readjusted the rears.. she's pulling up really smartly now, well pleased with how quickly it can be stopped.

Very glad I got the 3" lift.. I had no issue getting into this carpark at the local hardware shop on the weekend.

Cold morning starts were an issue.. Six fresh 10.5V plugs, wilson switched. Fires up so well on cold mornings now, better than I've seen a 2H fire up. Dual 12V batteries help too. So pleased with the starts now. A chilly 5degC this morning and it barely cranked before roaring into life.

I use a yellow top optima as my aux battery so can use them both as crank when the start battery starts to die. Really prefer a wilson switch for sure, during winter I count slow 20 holding the glow, watching cig lighter voltmeter drops to about 10.8v then goes back up to 11.3v when the glows are warm, then crank (at present battery health). The healthier the battery, less drop and higher crank voltage. I would guess a shty battery would wear a starter quicker too. Beautiful to hear your joy.

I also use the engine guard watchdog temp as a measure if I need to glow at all, if the 2h is over 40c can just crank, 50c+ is better. 35c gives a bit of unburned diesel exhaust.

But ozzies are a bit soft for the cold i'd say, got to admit, especially the ones up north. I didn't enjoy -17c in rural Japan when I was there, makes icy road driving a challenge for sure.
I have had to laugh during summer here sweating in shorts brain frying and a fella is pulling his engine in the snow at the same time on mud.!

A decent dash volt meter is so useful! I have one in my 47, but am yet to fit one to the 60..

i found the ones which plug into the cig lighter pretty good value or were. on ebay they use to be $3 aud now more like $20 with usb to charge phone etc. I have an el cheapo dash one for the aux battery but the plastic was crp so the tabs break and it flops around, then i stick it down with gaffer tape unfortunately, why they don't make quality beats me? then arb want $60 overpriced for theirs, which is robbery, redarc $235! ha!, bs. mind you stedi is at $20, never had a problem with their stuff. Next time I'd go stedi.
But your 60 deserves some bling, bit of showroom quality there mate!

Back into the shed.. time for a rear bar with dual rear wheel carrier and highlift jack mount.. the bar I am sorta copying and my progress so far.. the beer can represents the spindle for the wheel carrier.

way cool mate! what sort of welder are you running?

An old MIG Magmate Pro 250.. I'm eyeing off some of the Unimig models though! Might be time for an upgrade. I do have a decent TIG welder as well, I had the best intentions of learning and still havent fired it up in earnest..

Yep..

Bought a new toy yesterday.. plasma cutter, my little grinder was really not cutting it on the thick steel.

never seem to have enough or the right tool. Had to go hunting for a higher torque wrench for doing diff pinion nut. I like the deflecting beam ones for longevity, fb market place warren n brown 200ftpound deflector $95, not bad secondhand.

Yeah it never ends.. always something more to buy. I have some cheaper torque wrenches but have always lusted after one of those nice deflecting beam ones!

About 60% done with the fabrication of the rear bar.. Two spare wheel carriers next weekend if the mounting spindles and over-centre latches arrive this week..

First rear tyre swing almost done.. this was more challenging than I anticipated but I think the outcome is going to be good.. also check out the chunky boi Over-centre Locks I got! As usual, metal fabrication looks like complete rubbish until its got a nice coat of black paint on it.. a bit more grinding, radiusing, and flap disc work still to go.. cause I aint a welder!
