Was able to get a few pics this morning of the painted flares and a few other small things I've been able to address since getting it home on Saturday. The flares cleaned up nicely I think and look good with the black handles. There are a few interior shots too to show the seats. First off the flares.

What type of paint did you use for the flares?

What type of paint did you use for the flares?

I think I answered that a couple pages back, but I used plasti-dip. For certain things I think it's great. I used it on the grill because since it's slightly "rubberized" it doesn't chip like paint. I used Rustoleum to paint eh grill on my last 80 and it was good but would chip with road debris. I used plasti-dip on the grill of my Tacoma and it has never chipped in the 3 years its been on the truck so I used it on the grill for this 80. I also used it on the flares partly for the same reason since the flares get peppered by gravel. I dragged one of the flares against a rock in Moab last week and I was pleasantly surprised that all the was damaged was the plasti-dip.

When I got home, I just peeled off the plasti-dip (comes off like a vinyl sticker) and resprayed it. Looks like new again.

15 years and 150K miles later an my old '93 left yesterday on it's way to a new owner. It has been a fantastic truck for us for a long time. There is an old ROTW thread on here somewhere about it. But a short history for anyone that cares, we found it back in 2000 in Houston, Texas with 110K miles and it already had a bit of a lift and the ARB bumper but that was about it. We took countless trips in that truck and it was our primary family wheeler as each of our 4 kids were born. It had very few mechanical issues ever. I think we replaced a bunch of hoses and an O2 sensor, and needed to replace a bent axle shaft at one point but otherwise it was extremely reliable. The odometer shows 252K miles now, and it could be getting a V8 swap by the new owner.

Yesterday was probably the last time for a while I'd have 3 Toyotas in the driveway so I had to snap a photo. On the plus side, my wife suggested last night that we start looking for a old project truck for my boys so maybe we'll have a 3rd Toyota again before too long.

Couple old memories.
Set up to flat tow the 40 to the Rubicon

lots of trips to Moab

Pulled the trigger on a Comeup DV9S winch. Should have it in a couple weeks. Looking forward to evaluating this winch. Features I like are the fully sealed internals (can be fully submerged and run underwater) and the synthetic rope that comes on this model. The 9000 is maybe a bit light for my 80 but should still work just fine and I've got a snatch block for the times I need to boost the pulling power.

I'm stoked beyond words at how well my new PrInSu Designs roofrack turned out for the Land Cruiser. Mine was the first one Zach Scott has built for an 80 series so there was a bit of iteration along the way but man it is exactly like I had hoped. Love it. Now it's time to throw the Tepui Tent up there. This is a major photo dump since this is a rack for Cruisers that hasn't been on the market 'til now, and I'm sure there will be questions. So I'll post as many photos as possible to show details that will hopefully address most of the questions.

I may have found my next rack. I can't believe how much I LOVE this design.

I just ordered the powdercoat/black anodized version!

please post up a writeup when you get it together, would like to see if the quality is the same as the pictures. Also, would like to hear more about how these bolt together. My only reservation is that this is not a welded together design. I am not saying that this does not make it as strong, I don't know. Just something I noticed that makes it different from other welded together designs out there. I guess my concern would be if the bolts were to loosen over time and cause flex in the rack. How much weight is the rack designed to carry?

I have many many attachments for round roof bars (yakima). I wonder if there might be an option to replace one or more of them with a round bar? That would be a great option!

This was my only concern. It's not one rigid main body. But, I'm still all about this.

As long as you tighten the bolts to the proper torque there isn't much to worry about. I would also use some loctite 243 personally.

My Inti isn't one rigid piece and I haven't had any issues. Don't see this rack having any either. I'd be all over this design if I didn't already have one.
