For the price of the work of Christo and his crew simply can't be beat, I know others do it cheaper but no one does it as clean and proper as Slee does it, hands down.

I agree - When you take a step like this I think you want something that has been perfected. There are many 4.7L swaps out there that have been home brew and I applaud them. I've done several JK swaps and its one thing to shove something between the rails and another to make it look factory. I've also spent a lot of time fixing other peoples swaps and making them look and operate like a factory power plant.

I'm also planning on taking this truck All over the US and into Canada.. I want with as much reliability as I can get.

There are many ways to achieve a 4.7L or other swap into the 80... This is just my way.

Boltripper...how are you able to stand it? I would be chomping at the bits to get behind the wheel!! This is a really cool build. I'm really impressed with everything you've done. Congratulations and can't wait to hear your review!

Its been difficult. I speak with Christo every Thursday and receive pics from the previous weeks work. Christo has been great with the communications... I'm trying hard to leave them alone, but its great to have weekly updates.

Once it's done, and the motor is broken in, make a video of you getting on it from a stoplight, so all of us in the land of tractor engines can drool over the V8, and its ability to move these tanks! Still loving this thing!

I'll certainly do some videos for you guys..

like the take off from the stop light

I hope it is not rude for me to ask this but for those considering this conversion for the future can you or christo give an estimated range of what it would cost to swap in a 100 series motor like this? also, would a conversion like this be feasible or legal in CA with all of our zany smog laws?

I love the idea of the v8 power and keeping it toyota at the same time.

It is legal. You just need to get an inspection and BAR label.

Impressive, just read start to current!

I would have never guessed this truck would have ended up like this when I bought your stock wheels. I need a ride in this when it gets back in town!!!!

Some photos of the exhaust work...

I have a 100 and an 80. Every time I drive the 100, I think "why can't I have this engine in the 80? Then it would be perfect!"

In short, I hate you! :flipoff2:

Yep - Driving the wife's 100 would just kill me.. The power was just perfect and what I wanted. With a new 4.7L in my heavy pig and a proper re-gear, I should have about the same levels.

Best,

john -

Not even sure if i'm worthy enough to reply to this thread:hmm: This is over the top awesome! I appreciate your taste and attention to detail. If the

coin were available, I would cookie cut this build.............Annnnnnnnd probably will, minus the 2UZ and dual SO bump:flipoff2::beer:

Hey Boltripper. Hows the truck coming? mine is just getting back from Slee later today.
I spoke to them about doing the same swap on mine next year possibly.
Any learnings that you would provide? What would you do differently?
