Well, the 1HZ is out of a HZJ73.

Finally picked up my mail/packages that were delivered over Christmas from my neighbor's house. The turbo, manifold and cross over pipe are in great shape.

I also got an overhead console that I'm going to mount to the ceiling for additional storage. Got it cheap off of ebay. It's originally from a Tahoe/Suburban.

Going to order an FJ62 gas pedal assembly from Deo @mel lowe . I need it because the throttle on the 1HZ uses a cable and not a linkage like on the 60's 2F. For the cable, I'll use an aftermarket FJ80 (91-92) accelerator cable.

I'm hoping to pull the old engine tranny this weekend. Well, at least that's the plan.

Dave, can you just use the upper location for the hand throttle to be the cable pull? Kinda like what @wngrog did for his TBI setup.

Glad to see your going with a Toyota diesel Dave. I haven’t driven a 1hz personally but 1hdt’s are the bees knees and I’m guessing with the turbo it will be in the same ballpark??
Hj61 handthrottles bolt right in, great for warming it up, and cruise control if your a daredevil....

I use the hand throttle for clutch only driving in traffic. And @mcguirejohnson taught me it works great for reversing without rolling off a cliff on Black Bear.

I agree. The pedal I'm getting from @mel lowe will be coming with the throttle cable as well.

If/when I ever get to the paint phase, I think I found the color I'm going with. It's one I saw on Cerakote's website. It's called Burnt Bronze. Would look cool with black accents/wheels and is pretty close in tone to the what's on the truck now.

A buddy of mine has a 300 meter range on his property not too far from where I live. His only request is don't shoot the cows. I recently found some olde English 303 rounds and about 900 5.56 rounds and some .45 , I just need to make time.
