Forgot to mention that since you loose the tach signal into the AC amplifier when doing this swap, you have to do the @TrickyT mod where you remove one of the resistors in the AC amplifier board. This still retains the safety features in the circuit like over pressure and coil freezing prevention.

Sissy! You should have built up a tolerance by now to get through the rest of the summer without AC. Although I do keep thinking of the aftermarket AC system that @joekatana is importing for the 75. Maybe one day.

Which AC crimper tool did you use, and where did you get your crimpable fittings/hose from?

I don't see the exact model on Amazon anymore. Weird. Anyway, it is a Mastercool manual crimper clone. There are a ton of them on Amazon.

For the hose/fittings, I bought a kit off of eBay for cheap which included hoses and fittings. I bought some additional right angle ones to due to the routing. Just make sure they aren't the reduced barrier hose type (my crimper doesn't support those). You can also get stuff from coldhose.com or nastalgicac.com.

So, because it's been hotter than hell here in Texas, I decided to finally tackle the AC system. I started by ordering a new evaporator core and expansion valve. I got both off of Amazon for cheap.

I really need to get the A/C going in my 62.. PO swapped out the 3FE for a TBI 350, and didn't bother to hook up the A/C. Do you have any links to that Evap core and the expansion valve?

I ended up getting them from Amazon instead of waiting on a replacement from Rock Auto because I needed the parts shipped out faster to me.

Finally got back to working in the rear dual swing out bumper. I notched the arms and welded it up. I'm waiting for some UHMW plastic so I can build some stops/supports. It's getting there! Too bad it's so damn hot.

We decided to get solar for the house and will mount the panels on the workshop roof. Since they had to trench to tie the panels into the house meter, we decided to also run water to the workshop in the same trench.
