Welll.....this didn't take long. Casual marketplace listing appeared locally and after negotiation, some hesitation and a big push from @shellb ....here we are. For now I just want to save it and we'll go from there.

The basics.....February 1972 build date. I believe it to be a 2-owner truck, always Southern Idaho. It was the Father-in-Laws 'pride and joy' and ultimately passed. The truck was in the will to the kids and as expected - they only wanted money. Came with boxes and boxes of parts and two 'engines'.

Upside:
  1. Very little rust
  2. Spare 1F motor (complete)
  3. Spare 2F block, head, crank and cam. All machined (but need to look them over to see actual condition).
  4. All parts so far are accounted for to put it back to 'stock'
  5. Found a 16-spline H42 locally thanks to @65swb45
  6. It was local to me
  7. Original jack, rods, paint can, inspection lamp
Downside:
  1. Flares
  2. I have to put it back together
  3. More money to spend
  4. More time spent in garage
  5. I'm still debating if I want to do another truck right now.
What do I want to do? Well, put the driveline back in, stock wheels, lift and tires.....mainly because I'm boring and I enjoy the simplicity of a stock-ish truck.

I really wanted to do electric steering, SOA and 37s....but I've been talked out of that because it's just unnecessary.

Here are some pictures so far.....

Yes!! Can’t wait for this one. Basically a barn find and blank canvas…

You didn’t need a “big push” but I’m happy to enable it!

Take the flares off first….its my number one worse mod.

Let’s bring it back! (I mean I have no skills, so when I say “let’s” I mean you!)

That's it - case closed.

Now get busy!

Looks like a Nate special if I ever saw one. Glad you got your hands on another, really enjoy following your builds.
What do the rear quarters look like under the flares? I am in the get rid of them camp, but also know how much work that can involve.

So you found it before sale of your other 40 it seems😁. Oh the itch. Its real right?

Is that a mirror or an Ipad?

That sure looks like a weight distribution hitch on there. Would love to know what they were towing that justified that.
Amazing score Nate...

Alright well so far looks like I'll push on....

Went to storage to pick the truck up and get it loaded. After getting a minute to look at what I have - the F155 is actually the original motor to the truck. So I sat the motor in so I could transport it all simply and I'm thinking short of a lift, 35s, H42 mated to 3sp case.... and another 8274.....this one will continue to stay very original....or whatever you want to call it.

I was able to also pick-up the H42 and it looks to be in very nice shape. Today I took some time to organize the interior and get all the junk figured out....so far I've got a nearly complete engine bay now down to the splash shields, just need to ditch the Delco distributor and carb for oem bits.

The original radiator had a repair and missing vent tube - so the spare I also picked up locally is slapped on so I can at least mock up the engine bay.
