Is that gear oil GL-4 or GL-5?A few things on my punch list for SAS9. Fluid changes to Amsoil and all new Toyota hardware for the brakes. I got lazy last year driving over the passes to SAS8 and boiled my brakes coasting downhill with a trailer. Since then I’ve had pedal pressure issues at high elevation. I’m sure a strong “power bleed” could resolve this, but committed to swapping out to OEM parts. The oil was compliments of a really good guy in Wimberly that has a 6 figure built HJ60 and he could not get it to start. Someone gave him my name so I stopped by and it ended up being a bad fuel primer pump. Just happened to have a spare new one in my glove box so he was good to go. He happens to own a large commercial contracting company and has a fleet of trucks. So he’s an Amsoil distributor and source’s his product direct to service his fleet. I would not take any payment for my time and then these box’s showed up at my door a week later.
Those that know me well understand I do not spend much time researching things. Especially what oil is the best etc…but I’ve never heard anything bad about running this product so I figure I’ll give it a shot.

Good callI think I figured out a potential brake issue. Rear passenger brake was smoked. All other three corners looked great. I did trade out the Oriellys parts for Toyota parts. Still keeping the aftermarket rotors and drums. Except for the rear drivers which will get a new one under warranty. I last changed these rear brakes December of 23.

Completely agree. I was told to bring in the one drum and pad set for the warrantee exchange and when I picked it up today they gave me two drums and a complete rear brake pad set. I let them know the drivers side still looks new (very few miles in 18 months) and the counter guy told me he was doing a complete warrantee exchange. Said not to worry about returning the DS core. I’ll save it incase I get a callGood call
Ouray is on my short list for trips in my 60 soon. The million dollar highway and the various passes around are some of the best driving experiences in the westPunch list about complete for the trip to Ouray the end of next week. Brakes are really good. I had removed the vac can for something I was playing with and forgot to put the clamps on. Driving around my neighborhood setting the brakes I was getting a hard pedal on the second push as I approached stops. Tested the holding pressure on the booster (holding the pedal down after shutting down the truck) and everything was good. Now getting a hard pedal on about the 4th punch of the pedal as I approached stop. I’m running a small can and the idle was low so I’m betting on the booster not getting enough vacuum. Gonna do a negative pressure test just to verify it’s not the booster. Changed
all the fluids to Amsoil except for the front diff. My inner seals are leaking so bad. I figured I don’t need to waste that oil and watch it just drip out through the knuckles. Will address the knuckles and the inner seals this winter. The Amsoil filter that my friend gave me unfortunately did not fit. I was willing to try it out, but ended up going back to a stock one. Also discovered my OEM radiator that I had redone a year and a half ago has failed. So I pulled it and grabbed an aluminum one I had in another 12HT truck and slapped it in last night. The final thing that’s been on my punchlist since two years ago is to change the bolt on the shift selector for my high low function on the transfer case. When I rebuilt the T case two years ago, I forgot to tighten that bolt and lost it on my way to Colorado so I had to makeshift a M8 bolt that I used gorilla duct tape on so it would hold with the correct thickness to keep the shaft from sliding down.
