So how will you handle the motor mount issue? I am going to put the A/C mount back on and take a picture. I will see about spacing out the frame mount when I go to have my cross member moved for the H55F install.

As a side note, what A/C system are you installing in the cab? I like the look of the CCOT, but of course I would not need all other stuff it comes with. I have the A/C amplifier, thermistor, pressure switch, etc...

Randy is going to have to answer the motor mount question.

as for the A/C - I plan to use vintage air in San Antonio. They have a second generation..might be third, system that is great.

I am going to look at moving the frame mount or ditching the old 40 maount and weld in the 62 mount so they can be the same. Mark's has the 62 mount on the drivers side and the 40 mount on the pass. side. Either way I need to fix the exact problem you have. Shoot the pic and we can get it sorted out.

Can we throw this in reverse for a second? I'm not understanding the problem. Granted I'm using a FJ60 2F block, with 1969 mounts and I don't recall any issues.

Take a look at the first picture in IH8MUD.com Forum - View Single Post - 3FE FJ40 RTCustoms build.. That is with the 2F mounts. If you use the 2F mounts everything is kosher. The 3F bock is the same width with the same mounting holes. So you have no problem.

My problem is with using the 3FE passenger side mount. It is about 1-3/4 inches shorter than the 2F. This mount allows the use of stock A/C compressor, idler arm and tensioner pulleys.

This doesn't seem to be the way to go. The 3FE driver side mount is identical to the 2F, ergo, the frame mount should be the same. I'll try and get hte other mount in there tonight and post a picture so we are all ont he same page.

Just for clarification ... are we talking about the rubber mounts (aka insulator), or the steel engine bracket?

Randy - the injectors are back from cleaning. I found a place locally that will do them in 4 hours - if I needed. I dropped them off, and had them back the next am. $24 per injector, and that included all parts, o rings, end caps, etc.. They give you the rubber/plastic parts and only charge you labor...so I don't have to pay tax! ;)

If needed they also have new injectors for $36. I had two sets done, so your will have a core set for your next install. And i'll still have a core set after you pull my current injectors out.

Air conditioning........will I now have air conditioning? Oh goody, now the wife will want to drive it. How does the 3F connect to the heater in the FJ40 and how do you route in AC?

We are talking about the metal brackets attached to the engine. See below:

First pic is a comparison between the 3FE (left) and 2F (right) engine mount bracket.

Second pic shows the 1-3/4 mismatch when using the 3FE bracket.

Here it is with the A/C compressor installed.

And showing how the battery tray will need to be moved.

What is up with my radiator. Did it lean that much before I removed it?

Can't you just fab some tray/mounts up?

If you had the old 62 lower mount you could weld that in, either way you solved it the lower needs to be fabbed or the old one used. Thanks for the pics that clears up a lot for us. And the Rad was not leaning before.

NICE INJECTORS Mark. Great deal on the price too. They want 36.00 each up here!

Do you guys notice a difference with the cleaned injectors? Or is it more a peace of mind thing?

Hey Randy do I let this guy have the fan shroud or not? Also email me the info again on the 62 so I can call the guy please, thanks!

I gave him the shroud. Sorry.
but I gots mucho Benjamins in my pocket..........let's go get that blue thing.

On my last FJ62, and on the wife's FJ62, I've replaced/cleaned the injectors and it makes a big difference. The engines just idle and run great with the new injectors. Just like everything else in the 3FE, the carbon and gook buildup on the manifold, TB, cold start injector, injectors, is so great...it all needs to be cleaned to get these engine back to running good.

I'll go the junk yard and see about the '91 FJ80 frame mount. I don;t know if it will work or if they will cut it off for me. I don'tt know where to get a FJ62 mount. I guess I can call SOR, MAF or TLC.

tlc4x - do you know about the yahoo 3FE list? You might be able to post up a "wanted" for a 3FE mount. Great info on the mighty 3FE engine. I think someone posted today about parting out a 3FE truck. Also PM Gary (shmukster) he always has parts and I've noticed several Fj62 being parted out in the ih8mud sale section.
