I’ve painted a few boat decks with Durabak and it holds up well to abuse. Never thought of it for this application but I bet it will work well. Thanks for the good idea.

project farm guy on youtube does a great job testing all this kind of stuff. I was a bit surprised by the results but I think the Durabak has the right stuff.

As much as watching paint dry is an age-old tradition of procrastination professionals everywhere. I do have some things that need to get done. My left fender liner was really munched and bent beyond what I was able to correct.
I’m glad I did a fit up with the old liner before paint because this showed me how important that liner is with respect to getting the front clip back into place. That inner fender liner is really important. It needs to be in factory shape or smashed into a shape that mates with the other parts of that side.
I was able to find a 12V provisioned inner fender that will work just fine. But it needs to modified to hold the other battery tray, yes I could fab something but I do like things to be factree if possible. I used my old parts to get things into place on the new liner. marked stuff out and let the step bit do it's bizness.
I then plasma cut out some custom fender style washer out of 16 gauge and used a dimple die to fold them up, thus making them look semi-professional.
test fit seems ok
I will have to clean out the finish and get them spot welded into place and then re-finish the fender. sigh.

blasted the fender today and plug welded the fender washer/flange nut into place. Not quite as good as the Toyota procution line but caveman do good me think!
Now I need to spray it with epoxy.

STEP SUB-ASSY aka running boards
My running boards were starting to show the 25+ years of in the splash zone. I blasted them and shot them with epoxy, also did a very slight touch of texture. The raw aluminum was nice looking but slippery as hell in the winter. old dude doesn’t want no broken hips.
I also needed to remake the bracket plate where they attach to the body brackets. meta brackets. those were rusted to nuggets and a refresh was in order. Caveman decide to try static deformation bending with a die. turned out good enough. Now I need to tac on some M6 flange nuts/blast/paint + figure out what rivets.

finally back from paint... now the fun begins again. 
From what I can tell this is a phenomenal job! I love the site, so much info here however the ads are simply out of hand. Not only on all sides but covering every photo. Weddings an Amelia Island must really be the target market here!! I would be glad to pay a few bucks to read the great content in peace. All the best with the rest of your build. It really looks great.

I have reached the promised land, almost maybe in a certain respect if you don't count driving your truck.
new homebrew headliner turned out ok, still some wrinkles... we are just going to see if those come out on their own but it's nice to finally have a non blood-splattered headliner.

among other things... the actual factory clips installed into the carpet to lock the legit AU rubber like floor mats. Miracles are real.

also going to add this one today. I made provisions for a passenger side grab handle. Not sure why they did not provide this handle because it's super helpful for old people who want to ride with you. Because now that is pretty much everybody I know now.

mile stones have been reached, at least I can drive it around a bit now. still need to button up wiper links and about 11 billion other things.
you would never know once upon a time there was a sun-roof on this truck, painters did a nice job.
I like the old school grille, still waiting on the TOYOTA plate bling bling.
ordered the ARB rear, simple clean bumper. should look pretty decent. I'm sure that will take months and months... such is the world now days. The window tints matched up pretty well with the factory new side windows, happy about that.
I need to push the rear popup window seals and do a bit of snug up on the headliner in those spots but it mostly turned out pretty well. I will let it sit for a while and relax into place before doing any more messing with it. This was a real challenge, these bow style headliners are not a walk in the park. and please no don't even ask I have no desire to produce headliners.

Since I re-did my headliner in more of a grey I decided to go out and find the B0 style code and try them, perfect!
