Well I'm no expert but seeing as you have the vehicle running with just 3 wires I'm not sure that The ECU is that important anyway. I truly wish I had something more useful to contribute to this thread keep it up and man keep it up!

Dan

that itself was helpful enough....i thought so too....but it never hurts to get another opinion....righ?

Would this work ...

Im trying to get the wiring sorted out... and found plenty of links in the EWD get the same power source from either FL Main...AM1....or from the ign switch...im not a keen fan of splicing power lines....would adding this electrical connection thing i got from a shop work...
it sort of compensates the lack of having a power outlet box...

got the starter and alternator running..no more hajji style car ignition...finally i see over 13.7v when engine is running....i was sure my alternator was bad....now i know the problem was with the wiring......

Sun roof rails

now the car can start and charge up.....was thinking of taking it for a power wash...want to install the rear windows (manually cleaning their openings) and the sun roof....

thought to start with the sunroof....bit of cleaning and get it back in....but guess what....the rails are so dirty they are STUCK shut....guess when it started to leak the PO left it 'leaking' for sometime from the sights of the headliner....the water must have crept into the rails and just filled up the rails and tubes with all the dirt it could carry...

applied penetrating oil (yes it does sound dirty but its actually called that)..will leave it till after work tomorrow....no power wash tomorrow :bang:

The rail...look at that dirt...had to remove it with a screwdriver...yes, the same one that stabbed me....

the wire that moves the sun roof....not clear in the pic, but that thing is brown in colour....i mean so dirty the tubes dont budge a mm......lightly tapped the tube with pliers and it started moving....

will need to clean and lube the whole thing.....

question....will normal bearing grease work here or do i need something else to lubricate them??????

do the drainage rails at the back of the sunroof pan drip into the rear wheel well....or should they extend to pour outside....from the wheel well thing?

my wheel wells are clogged with dirt....im sure that will occur again, and will cause the drains to get 'plugged' again.....

it doesn't rain much here....but when it does, its usually after a heck of a sandstorm....so the rain itself starts off very murky...then clears as the rain continuous.....

sunroof motor....fixed

testing the motor...it wouldn't run....opened it up....again, very dirty...cleaned inner motor gear, lubricated.....and found that one of the on/off switches wasn't connected...

Didnt do much today...except plan my wiring and how much i need of what to connect to where...

Came up with an idea....good or bad is your call

Why not use UTP network cable....yes computer network cable...to connect all the switching system...example....the headlight control, wipers, tail light etc....the cable are already very thin from the stock...and UTP cable is excellent in terms of connectivity....that way...i get colour coding...and can use miles of it if i needed....

this Wont be used as the main power to relays etc....just the on/off switch part of the wiring.

any advice?

Got the floor insulator....carpet and heavy duty vinyl flooring. ....will cut to nearest possible and fit....later will install sun roof ...compass and rear windows. ..all this after a good interior scrub...pics later

I would think the insulation on the inner wires of network cable would be too thin? Interesting idea I am not sure I have ever heard of it being done.

True. ..but I think the amount of current going through them will me minimal...will do a bit more research. ..its an idea still...and I have about 100 meters from an old network project. ...thanx for the advice...will keep you posted
