If I recall correctly someone had good luck using a hand drill or buffer and a wheel of some sort with soft bristles to remove the old jute padding. Hard to make out, but was there something added over the original floor??

thanx for the response.....

this cruiser was very abused....the PO had a very thin vinyl just glued to the flooring....once i peeled that to install a thicker one....found the insulator there in lots of places....SOAKED in diesel...tried washing it...and then just got fed up and covered it.....but now im doing everything right...so i want to get this done...

everywhere i search it says use dry ice.....the only way to get dry ice in Sudan is to buy ice and leave it in the SUN to dry...LMAO

thanx again

That is even a much different headliner than we have here. In the US the headliner is hard fiber board kind of material that is stiff. Is that is more like the 55 and 60 headliner with bows?

yes it is a bow construction....i just named them rods earlier..:whoops: my bad..but from what i understand is that fibre headliners came in models after 95...not sure....but as much as i searched this and other forums....it was like a dreaded thing to remove pre 95 model headliners because they were described as "the dangling" type...so...instead of tearing mine away...i did the write up

Careful when working alone

at times...i do try and rush things...and without the appropriate tools...this is what happens.....

That is the same headliner 91-94 80 series have. 95+ got the "easy to work with" headliner. I would have loved to drop mine when I dampened the entire truck but was worried I'd never get it back right.

Just do it....once u drop it...start installing it by the bows first...then the moon roof....everything else is just glued to something else. ...once u get the bows and moon roof...the rest will literally fit in there place....ur only main concern would be the windshield. ...if thats out....ur on ur way. ...

Hope my pics help..good luck

No thanks, that wouldn't be necessary. Maybe I'll go ahead and get it over with. Redoing it in vinyl would be pretty awesome. Can't wait to see how yours turns out.

94 vx....wireless cruiser

i now officially have the first wireless cruiser out there....except the three wires to get it running in the engine bay...:D

going to pick up some insulator tomorrow....no Dynamat etc here....so just the dark grey woolly type thing

any advice?

I think I can I...

Holy crap dude! Determination. That head liner is almost exactly what I reverse engineered out of my 93. You should just try cleaning that sun roof real good and try those pins on the motor with 12v. See if it works the switch was bad on mine the roof mech is fine. That might be it but my guess is if someone used silicone it was probably leaking. They're supposed to. The pan drains out those four hoses about 3/4", black, running down the a pillars next to the windshield and behind the rear doors. Make sure those are clean froom the top down. Judging from what rained down on you when removing the headliner that's a strong probability. Great work. Super jealous of the manual trans, drive it like you stole it:steer:

Thank u ...great...thats what I thought might be the problem. ....and u know what...the roof motor works...but the railing has been so abused it has dirt..stones....hay...and even coal stuck in between. .

Yeah and the diesel. Runs on three wires makes me sick!

I sure love the smell of diesel

Testing my wiring schematics reading abilities

Today i will try to decipher the electric wiring diagrams by doing a small test.

Will start with trying to wire up the headlights to ignition switch and headlight switch.

will hook them up temporarily until i figure out how much wire i need and then finalize them later...crimped, wrapped and colour coded as close to factory as i can.

lets hope all goes well

a quick and probably dumb question to ask, but just to confirm on the right track, as this is the first time i do car electrics........ the ECU....is that only for gasoline and/or automatic transmission...or does it in anyway apply to my diesel manual?

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

Well I'm no expert but seeing as you have the vehicle running with just 3 wires I'm not sure that The ECU is that important anyway. I truly wish I had something more useful to contribute to this thread keep it up and man keep it up!

another thing...in sudan, we dont need defogger or heater....would it be 'wise' to move the headlight , horn/haz and condenser relays into RB1.... that way the majority of my wiring will be inside the cabin...and only a few wires in the engine bay.... would that make sense?
