Cody, never used the "cruisercrap" stuff so can't comment

She's Mad, yes the stuff compresses well and will bounce right back when the weight is removed. damn good quality stuff.
i did not use the same stuff behind the door panels.

Sorry, don't mean to repeat the question but I'm wanting to order something for the sound for my hilux/3B, how well does that stuff knock down the sound? Is it alot quieter or a little? I'm beginning to dislike the rattle of the cummins in my 80 some days on the way home from work, and I dont want that for the hilux, and since I have the carpet and furniture out of it anyway...

what was that?
i definitely notice the difference and i am ... hard of hearing ...

thanks for the compliments
but my work is squat compared to:

Gozzard's son Robin is building a 4 door fiberglass extended 40 and the workmanship ... WOW.
so many cool people creating, recreating.
what about Soenk (sp?) pop-top 40 series camper on the 80 drivetrain? damn beautiful truck and functional.
...
and numerous other creators of gorgeous Cruisers ... i am humbled when i see these builds taking place.
i am appreciative that you guys visit my build threads. i get great joy out of creating peoples dreams and it is fun to share as i go along...

Don't kid yourself;) you do very very nice work...

Don FC87 is a bit of a artist with metal and can build one kick ass extreme trucks..

Kevin is a metal technician :), very talented also, I have learned the most from watching his work..

Good luck with the build..

i also wired for 2 center LED lights (if anyone has suggestions for 3" X 3"+L, speak up).

Darn. Too late to the party on this one. I have been kicking around the idea of using aircraft luminescent strips as an aux interior light. Was going to throw that out there as an idea to see if you had thought of it or tried this on other builds.
Most are 24v but I believe these also come in 12v

Like I said, I have been thinking about it. I just haven't shelled out the coins to purchase a chunk to try out.

thanks for the idea, i had seen them in my search but it didn't grab me since ... yah yah ... i am trying to keep a semi stock interior look.
i ordered 2 new factory interior lights and will replace the dinky bulb with one of these:
http://www.pfranleds.com/
if i can figure out how to get the company to drop at my address. i also sent an email with no response. if anyone knows how to contact them direct by phone then i want to give them my business.
otherwise, anyone else know a company that sells similar for a 60 series interior roof light?

just for fun, i want to build one of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hEA02kfdh8o : with a 70 base. THIS is what i have been mumbling about for a couple years and now that i see it in action ... oh baby ...

As for the lights, here is a link to Pfrans LEDs here on MUD and I'm sure if you contact him he will make it happen. https://forum.ih8mud.com/pfran-leds/482928-80-series-led-madness.html

the original windshield has a couple small chips and the rubber was toast
so
new take out windshield and rubber, cheaper than Toyota here wants.
a small bead of silicone around the edge
readly to install.

changed my mind on the exhaust routing for the Wabasto. the pipe was running too close to electrical as well as the air bag lines.
straight out and down, lots of room to the tire, no electrical to worry about, no wrap of the exhaust.
simple clean.
also the inlet hose to the wabasto was too close to the steering so a cover was made up to protect it and to hold the shape without the hose being able to kink.

with these 6.5" speakers they came with cross overs and tweets. in the rear i have been holding off mounting them till we got closer to finishing up the interior.
mounted the cross overs for easy access if need be.
the tweets in the corners and (should be) out of harms way.

there was lots of small things accomplished this week.
monday we should recieve the 6 gang fuse panel for the starting battery. in hindsight we should have counted on this but i had hoped i wouldn't need to ... things change.

once completed the interior should be pretty clean and simple looking ...

Hi Crusher

Nice work as always!

A heads up though, the Webasto is rather noisy without the muffler, I have one, you might want to test that.

yah, i have run a few over the years. they sound like jet planes when they are warming up.
i never knew you could get a muffler for them. got a link?
or are you talking the intake? if so, the factory piece is there. that black thing with the hose clamp right next to it.
