the owner wanted a mount for his thermos of tea
i had a bugger of a time trying to find a mount but with the warmer from factor55 and the mount from Crappytire it ended up fitting like a glove, literally.
nutzert to the plastic
bolt in place
and secured firmly but easy access.
done.

as you can see the new floor style is set up differently from the H55F tranny configuration. the older style is obsolete and the new floor was available ONLY from Japan for the short wheel base.
Dave at Japan 4X4 came to the rescue, decent pricing and very quick turn around time. the factory had to actually make this to order. it even smells like brand spanking new.
there is also a foot rest in all the new units so i ended up ordering the new foot rest to cover the holes and to give the owner a place to rest his foot.
the shifter holes are going to be a bit more of a challenge, not sure yet what i will do ... :hhmm:

installed anti slip tape on the rear ladder
the back is almost finished now, just need to add the Jackall mount.
Cruiser, i had a nasty shock, i have been helping him in and out of the LC and truck when ever we went anywhere and this time he decided to jump before i could get my hands under him and he went down hard. his hips are shot and i thought for sure this was going to be the time to say good bye but after a couple days he came back around.
i don't think we have much time left with him but as long as he seems to be enjoying life we will be happy to have him here. as soon as his joy in life is gone then the time will be here. i don't want to be selfish and keep him around just cause it hurts so much to put him down.
back to the build:

the rear coming along nicely
because the rear is now disc you need to modify the cable
they don't sell a cable for rear disc in the short wheel base
mod includes relocating the center mount.
turned out nice.

the first step is a pretty good one, even for a guy 6'3". the owner is normal height so we made up a slide in step for when he is loading the roof rack.
off to the PC to match the truck and then anti slip tape will be applied.

when a truck has a lift you need to rebend or relocate the sensor bar. i am not big into the bend practice so i make an extension for the mount between the axle and the sensor arm as you can see here.

the 22" driving light is hooked to the high beams so it auto off when switched to low beams. it can also be turned on when off roading with or without the head lights being on high or even on. i wanted a switch that the owner can see what is what. up is full time on, down is on with the head light high beam. makes sense to me.

the blower winch now has the rope installed ready to be installed onto the winter bumper.
we are also getting covers made for the 3 external winches, this should help keep the winches alive longer and out of thieves eyes.

because of the turbo the factory heater lines should be relocated.
couple that with the missing rear factory lines it just made sense to make new ones.
once completed then these will be removed and covered with that kickin pipe wrap we used before and then installed permanently ...

Sorry to hear about your old dog, glad that he was able to recover from the jump. We got an old girl thats starting to have a hard time getting around too. Its tuff to watch and I can certainly relate to what your saying.

On a happy note those stainless steel window frames are what we all need. They should be available aftermarket (hint hint anybody listening?) ;)

Sadly had that happen with our second German shepherd. Used to pick her up to get in the truck when her hips started going, then she decided to try on her own again before we could help her up.....

Looking great. That front "deer" guard is mean looking!

I had to put down our 14 year old Siberian Husky Monday. One of the hardest things I ever had to do

Looking sharp as heck there Wayne. Truely a man that knows Land Cruiser's. We had to put down a dog a few years ago due to him not having control of anything anymore from old age. Had to carry him everywhere and he was 100 lbs.

well, there were no PS lines with this truck when it arrived.
so
since they are discontinued (and expensive if you could find them) and since i relocated the res to the top of the pump it was time to make new ones.
i went to buy new fittings, nothing. can't get them from the dealer, can't find them at the parts store so off to the wrecker to find some. located a bunch that were like brand new. score.
then it was on to making up the lines, SS 3/8" was used as well as quality couplings for the pressure line.
i had to be able to clear the air box, the huge alternator, the belt system, rad and the finished product had to be secure but be able to flex without cracking the piping.
short bends first, the steering box was the tightest fit to clear the rad, box and winch power lines.
