Got all my brake lines ran and bleed them. Had a snuffu with the right rear. Stupid copper water had a hair line scratch in it. Stupid fluid was squirting out like crazy. Geez
Replaced it and no problem. 😤

The last piece to get stripped. It’s in much better shape than I thought it was going to be. Few pin holes right at the front. Not sure how I am going to tackle it. 😵‍💫

I am hoping to get it started this weekend. Bought all new gear/trans/engine oils, and spark plugs.

Getting all the wiring hooked up this weekend and trying to get it started.
I am not getting any fire to the plugs. I am using coolerman’s HEI wiring harness, and I am getting 12v to the distributor.
No spark. I assume the coil in the HEI is out. Am I right? Would there be anything with the sniper setup that. Would cause this? I am thinking no, but…..

Anyone can help on this? Thanks.

They like to eat modules

🤬 frustrating.. would be my second coil. Few years back it went out.
As far as I'm concerned, they offer nothing that an oe dissy can't also provide.

Well if it’s not one thing it’s another. First drive. Looks like my alternator is not charging. Tested it at the battery while running and it’s just 12.1V.
And my IAC is at zero, gonna have to wait till my new alternator gets here. Let it run for a while and the temp stayed at 180-181. I was glad to see that. I mean, everything is Fn new. 🤔

I can’t get the dang IAC to stay between 4-8.
It jumps all over the place once it gets to temp. 😡
Any suggestions out there?????
Also, what would caused the rpm to error out when I go over around 4000?
When sitting idle the IAC goes from 0 to 40, back and fourth

Can someone please help me on this? I am at my last straw.

The wire running to the HEI for tach is not attached to anything, single wire. So no interference, I have the 12V pink wire running to the fuse box. Red and black straight to battery.

I am not touching the gas pedal, the rpm’s are up and down…

Went through the Holley process of tapping off IAC hole with tape as well. But obviously hard to adjust since rpm all over the place.
Also, sprayed carb cleaner all over. No vacuum leaks.

Anyone see this?

if the HEI is not working it's not going to run or it would misfire.

Surge is fuel usually. The sniper is probably getting mixed signal somewhere telling it to fuel then stop.

Are all of the holes in the manifold plugged?

Is the PCV valve working (shake it)

All holes are plugged, I will check PCV this afternoon. Thanks for the help!! Much appreciated.

Vacuum hoses can split at the connection or anywhere along their length. The plastic fittings/nipples can crack at the base causing vac leaks. Sensor can go bad as in an intermittent failure, fluctuating ground can cause problems.
