Any of you other slackers gonna show? I have seen 3 40s since I have been here, a yellow, a red and a blue.

A cruiser head meet with no cruisers!? Sounds like I probably better show up. Lol.

I'll be in a champagne 80 series if I do. So Denny's in Shalimar?

Or Ocean City-ish area. I know the one.
Take your brother and his 4runner. I’m sure he needs to get out of the house of just wemans and hang with some guys.
Maybe in fall I will be able to get away and head over to say hello

Edit: there’s probably enough of us in the panhandle region/lower al to have a good thread to post like this if one not already going. I think this one started out showing the 75 fj build

I wish I could have been there! I had a USAF reserve training assembly today (that I had forgotten about for a while). Hope you had fun.

Bolt from the ood hook to apron...I'm glad that when it broke, no pieces remained in the cruiser

Finished installing the Icon jump seats today.
They came unpainted, I degreased them then hit them with a rattlecan of semi-gloss rust oleum. There have been some scratches in the paint thru the fab process, but overall I’m happy.
Next, I drilled holes for the fabric screws and strap ‘stay’ with a drill press.
I got the seat covers from Cruiser Corps in grey…I thought about trying to match the front seats, but that was going to be impossible. The covers fit pretty well; the bottom has some seemingly extra material at the hinges that you have to fold. I might go back with a wire between the fabric screws someday to help smooth it out…but it looks pretty darn good as-is.
I used a 2 inch thick and 1 inch thick foam that I cut to size for each section.
The seat attachment hardware and seat belts are from Cool Cruisers and work great. I had to put a few spacers in between the seats and wall to make sure the lower attachment points lined up with the existing holes in the fenders.
Found 3/8th shoulder bolts to connect the top and bottom half’s together. The threads stick out but aren’t in the way. I may cut it down at some point.
Lots of PB blaster on getting out the roll cage bolts (for seat belt attachments) and to make sure the new ones don’t get cruddy fast.
The seats are too thick for the regular straps to reach and hold them in the up position. I will either have to buy a longer one or rig up something else.
Took many moons to finish…I got distracted along the way.

Decided to peek under the hood hinge…some work to do.

what did you use for wire in the covers?
I didn’t use wire in the seat covers. It turned out “good enough” without wire, so I decided to not go back and add it

ICON seats

Did you install rubber jump seat feet on the frame? If so, where did you get? Thanks, Jeff
I have not…they rest on the seat cover and are pretty flat. It was always my plan to find something on McMaster Carr that worked, but it hasn’t been a priority. My kids sit on them and it doesn’t cause a problem

Doing some fender maintenance...have some wires and accessories to clean up. I'm going to see if this aftermarket fender will fit...I don't have much hope from what I've read on other builds here on Mud.

At least two major rust zones on each fender (seen in pictures in earlier posts). I haven't taken the dive in to metal fabrication yet, but that might have to be the long term strategy if the aftermarket fenders don't fit.

Will you fix, or replace the wiring to the fender lamps?

I can show you how I did mine, not sure if it is correct, but, Toyota should have given us better protection, conduit, and a dedicated ground wire.

I haven’t decided yet…did you go the fix route? How’d that go?

That old fender looks pretty darn good to me. I bet it cleans up really well. You can come over and we can sandblast it to see what type of rust is there and then you can decide to patch and paint or scrap it. I am in Freeport.
Awesome!!! I am going to have to take you up on that. These are the rust areas I’m concerned about:
