Does that tire carrier block the right rear tail light?

Nice cruiser!

I think if you lived in a place people get uptight about such things you might have issue but if you are directly behind the truck the light is clearly visible

I’ll get a pic tomorrow

Thanks! Look forward to seeing it.

The spare is “fun size” right? That might be why. Bigger tire would obscure the brake lamp?

I think you should suspend this build until we can get this brake light thing figured out. 🤣
you are not going to believe this but I actually got pulled over for this exact issue this afternoon. I was driving my 80 series. The cop walked up and said he hit the lights thinking the spare was covering the brake light but did not realize they were in the bumper.

“brake lights matter”

Nothing super exciting to photograph.

Got the glove box door upgraded for future driveline enhancements and finished up the Dakota wiring. No final pics of that because the wires look like Medusa because I have not permanently mounted it. This time I’m putting it on the upper driver cowl.

This truck is a dream to work on. It has a brand new wiring harness that I assume @ClemsonCruiser built. So nice.

Also for all of you concerned about Johns tail lights….,,

It is. There was a really great thread dating back a while with some original photos of the truck. But the guy that started that thread locked it when I wanted to just continue the thread.
Apparently you aren't worthy to continue a thread like that. :rimshot: lol

This thread certainly is bittersweet. As John mentioned, this one came from me. It was the last truck in my "Great Cruiser Purge 2021". The hardest to let go as it was 1. By far the nicest and 2. The most rare. I knew I'd never get another one like it. Of all the people who could have it, I knew John would do right by it. As he said, @ClemsonCruiser did truly beautiful work. I'm 100% sure John, @wngrog, @OGBeno and the rest will make it perfect. I'm in, as hard as it will be to watch and realize what might have been.

Red Lobster is headed to the boiling pot... 😂

Thank you. And thank you for selling me the 45. Love this truck.

I’ve not been sleeping on Seminole. After the initial flurry of activity I settled in and started ordering parts.

Lots of stuff showing up.

Also I tapped into a real solid contact @Ratboy who keeps a secret stash of stuff aside for worthy projects.

Ran down to Powder Keg to grab the Dobinsons springs I purchased via Ozark Overland Outfitters @Ozark cruiser …..

So I am looking at this set of springs I got.

Back in the summer I added this kit to a 45 LPB and kept the entire rear spring pack in the truck. Here is the stance.

I know John is not planning to use this truck as a work truck so I’m considering removing all 3 overload springs which would basically make them the same spring pack as an FJ40 Dobinsons pack. Also think I’ll drill the spring perch and move the axle back 1” to center it in the well a bit better.

And a 3rd up top. 🙄

Cheers

What in the world are you talking about.

Let me rephrase the statement counselor.

I don’t think you want to drive this truck around with a set of one-ton springs in the back for the majority of its use.
