WRC’s FJ45 Troopy (2 Viewers)

Hi All,

Figured after a lot of lurking and learning from searching these forums it’s time to introduce myself and my Troopy I built while working in Saudi in 2023 and 2024. I shipped it back to the states and have been continuing to tie up loose ends.

I’ve included some pics of when I picked it up.

I underwent swapping in a carbureted 1FZ-F and 5-speed from a wrecked early 80 series. Then tackled restoration of the body, suspension, and interior.

I was fortunate to find an LX rear seat and so I installed it as a mid seat for more comfortable riding for passengers.

I’m super happy how it came out especially given the “fun” I had getting parts and support in Saudi.

My next plan is replacing the junk yard carb’d 1FZ-F that I took a chance with (head gasket is leaking) and swap in a known healthy 1FZ-FE that will have more support here in the states. So I’m looking to find ECU, wiring harness, and solid engine from someone that decided to swap in an LS.

Also meant to include this isn’t my first 80’s project car. I also have an ‘87 Audi 4000 quattro that I swapped in a 20v turbo engine on standalone and other upgrades to make loads of power

with a 6spd swap. It’s been a long term project that’s a lot of fun to surprise folks with.
