Drained. Fuel lines removed. Wiring peeled back. Clutch slave off. Exhaust removed. AC and stereo removed. Tomorrow I’ll get the rest of the interior out to remove the tranny hump and then pull the radiator and finish the gutting of this beauty.

I’ll bet she’s coming apart easier that’s any truck you’ve ever worked on.
Except I’m scared all the time

Just to be clear…..none of this stuff would be going down if the motor did not have a rod knock. I tried to not hear the knock. John tried not to hear it. This truck is fine. The install is fantastic. Clean. No corners cut.
This is for sure. I really wanted to do nothing with this truck but drive it. I was really excited to get this truck and I think it was at the house about 48 hours after Steve asked me if I wanted it. I splurged on shipping and got a guy with a super nice enclosed trailer.

A 40 on 33s won’t fit into a standard enclosed trailer.

Isn't this Henry @HENDOG 's old truck? I always loved that thing. Gotta love the brass tag trucks!

It is. There was a really great thread dating back a while with some original photos of the truck. But the guy that started that thread locked it when I wanted to just continue the thread.

I’ve never seen a radiator with horizontal vanes like this one. I’m thinking it could be original to the truck. It’s about 30% heavier than the current OEM 40 radiator.

I have come across a couple early radiators. Like you said, much heavier than newer ones.

Maybe some period correct nut will want this one. I’ll check it into the 45 classifieds once I get time

Probably. A good radiator shop can rebuild it. I have had this done with great results.
This one seems in perfect order but we are going with another Mosley/Spal combo. So quiet and nice.

Don’t think that’s stock to LCs
