My issue with the two tone is it reminds me of a willys wagon! I don’t want to see a cruiser and think willys! So it’s straight nebula for me!
Well, if you reel back to that time period, Toyota was in a mode of trying to compete with domestic production. They saw what America was buying and tried to show and beat economically. I believe they won. So, to be true to time and understanding, two tone may be the restoration correctness. ( Willys)

@JackA stopped by today to visit Lara and we gave it a good look-over together. Always nice to get a fresh set of "mud eyes" on her! Unfortunately looks like the LV steps are different, so we will probably have to try to fab a new set.
One thing I had not thought about or noticed that we discovered is that the front vent windows are not original and are siliconed-in. The vent window frame is missing. So there is no opening mechanism on them at all, however there are holes at the top with some screws in them where the top pivot point would be (comparing to the 45LV picture attached). Haven't looked close enough yet to see if it's exactly the same size as the LV or not, but this stock drawing/photo tells me that it did at one point have the vented windows. One more thing to add to the list that we may have to make ourselves!

I only have the passenger side. I just searched and found these on ebay. Honestly, the lock looks closer on these than the LV. fj40 toyota land cruiser Vent Windows | eBay
Those are mid 60s-74. they hinge on the top of the windshield frame. it looked like his hinged on the mid front of the vent window frame

Makes my heart hurt a bit, taking this old girl apart. But it has to be done... check out all the welds on the fender bracket!

Had to very delicately cut the fender aprons off as they had been welded-on. Did our best to protect the cowl piece as that's the irreplaceable part. The fenders were welded to the apron, and the apron to the cowl. I'm convinced the original family that owned this thing just LOVED to weld. Why put bolts through those holes when you can just weld it? It's pretty ugly...
Every day I find more parts that I need, is it best to just post a single wanted ad with a complete list and add to it as I find stuff? Vs posting a bunch of separate wanted ads?

FWIW the pict that includes your radiator support is another piece of evidence that there are early supports that have that cross brace at the top vice part way down. My early '63 has that and I've now seen two others in the early 60's with such.
Why don't you make a list of what you know you need right now, and update it as you dig into this farther ?

Short list of the stuff I know will be more difficult to find. I still need some fender aprons but didn’t add those as I’m sure I can find them local if I’m patient.
Wanted - FJ45LV / FJ25 / Early FJ40 Parts for FJ28L Restoration
I decided maybe it would be best if I just create one ad for parts, and edit as we get into this restoration and things need to be added. Here's the parts I'm looking for right now. I understand many of these will be quite difficult to get and I may have to find other solutions, but can't hurt...

Pulled the vacuum wiper motors off today - they look pretty different from each other. Is one original and one not?

It looks like the Asahi wiper "motor" is missing the switch lever.

Definitely both are missing the levers. But until now I thought both were original. Now I think perhaps I only have one original. Better add it to my list! I think I’ve got some early TNK motors I could probably trade if someone has the vacuum ones.

Fits either side of early Ford Bronco 1966-77. I had a bad bronco motor with a gouged cylinder. I took the output shaft and bracket from it and built a mint motor using an NOS donor "S" type motor.

Not real clear in the picture of the correct one posted but it has a piece on top to turn vacuum wiper on. Can see the knob on the upper right.

Sorry, wasn't sure what I was going to be looking for when I took the picture. The Asahi one is the bottom one in this photo. The top one looks like one from an old Bronco. I'm sure we can get it working and make a correct lever, but didn't think I'd have to find a second one!
