Some photos of my newly acquired fj25. Let me know if there is anything specific I can photograph for reference.

Frame No. 0-FJ25-20560L

I'll work on the manual.

Mike

Very nice, very complete, wish I had more time to study the pictures. :bounce:

Your T-bird is right side up, but your valve cover is on backwards. :p

Nice score!

No tool bag with this one.

Thanks re the valve cover.

Resto plans... Will do a complete frame off and back to original color. On the back burner for a while though. Were finishing off my '64 fj45 in the next few weeks, motor should be ready next week. Also mid-stream on my '67 LV.

Thanks, Mike

sooooo coool man :D

tool bag?

What did the tool bags from this era consist of? I got one with my '62 fj40, heavy canvas, screw driver, pliers, grease gun...not sure if that was original or not.

thanks, Mike

very very nice i am a complete fan of this rare group of early unmolested character filled landcruisers. in my opinion (based only on photos) this example is in top 3 original 25s beside #58 and #62 in the registry. dare i say too good for a frame off restoration? there are so many molested cruisers deserving of the frame off treatment. i suggest some discreet rust repair, a retrim and thorough mechanical restoration without paint and put the old girl straight back to work. the full body restoration can easily come later if ever required. i am gradually achieving this with my current 64 fj45 project. #30, 32 and 71 in registry are all also very nice based on the single pictures i have seen, and #101 and 111 have restoration plans. i dread a future time when there are no unpainted unmolested and unrestored 25s left to ogle over. do other enthusiests share this sentiment or am i out on a limb?

looks earlyer than 60?

whats the vin?

you do know you are required to scan in that owner manual :) ......GREAT find!

What made you think it was eearlier Johnny? there "BIG" mid years changes on the 1960 FJ25. I believe it started the year with a F120 instead of the F135. The toy box got shorter. Can't tell from the picture but it also looks to have the later style front frame cross member.

but your valve cover is on backwards. :p

I sure this was done to increase the flow thur the engine. Traveling all day at eighty mile a hour it would of helped kepp the engine cool. Just incase anybody it wondering what we are seeing those vent in the valve should be pointed the other way. The FJ25 didn't have the PCV so no hose running from the valve cover to the air cleaner just those small vents.

nice detail pics... wish someone would not restore such a patinated beauty... but seems it stays my lonely dream ;)
Cheers
Peter

I agree with you if there was a way to replace the rear sill and then bend it in I would keeep it as is and just clean it up.

How about a picture of the fuel pump. I bet you still have the hand primer. Can you tell where the hose from the vacuum wiper goes? I don't believe we ever figured out where on the engine it is attached from the factory.

Very nice score:cheers:

Very nice to see one as oringal and as good condiction as that. i have the same book. Cheers Ian

I see the mice didn't get to yours though. Mike

Vacuum from wipers: the black tube going from the firewall to the manifold is the wiper vacuum tube
