Yes guys my top is generally in very good shape aside from gutters and that one rivet. So could I also use seam sealer around that rivet @imyahucklbrry ? Then put some of the primer @sterling used on his top and paint over the repaired area with the topcoat he used? I will provide more pics of my top. The color is not the yellowish Cygnus white but not a pure white either-if that makes sense?? Really appreciate all the great input-big thanks!

If that rivet is loose you probably should get it secure first... there's likely a special tool for it and bet it ain't cheap

Ok turns out rivet is not loose-but looks to be missing sealer around it.....

Sanded and bead blasted the windshield frame and welded up the PO's holes he drilled for the bikini top.

Then, I fell and cracked a couple of ribs on my right side while helping the wife mulch the flower beds. Bummer!

How's the ribs, Roger? Hope they're mending well.

Been working on a few things over the last couple of weeks. Fitted a twin set of snorkles, modified a bonnet I picked up and fitted XA GT flutes to it and a rear drawer system.

Cool storage box, hood looks neat, but why twin snorkels? What does two do better than one? And what's with the three windshield wipers? Never seen that...

Dustinuhls, twin snorkels are on there cause I think they look cool and there are not too many 40's fitted with them. I might hook both up when I do the rebuild on the vehicle. Triple windscreen wipers were standard over here in Aust for what we call the LX model. They had quite a few different options to the standard 40 and are getting harder and harder to find.

@Ken White Wow it amazes me how here in the USA Yota sells the most vehicles and we dont get the good stuff. What a scam, that to this day continues with parts in their Kentucky wharehouse that are deemed "non-USA" parts and cannot be ordered by US Toyota dealers. If people only knew.................

You guys overseas have it WAY better with Yota, thanks for posting up those pics....................

The ribs are way too sore Danny. Doc said today they will be fine and to just get tough and stop whining. I love that guy!

Grandson, in his stroller, watched me build up the paint equipment in anticipation of the yellow dust of the pollen season being over. Then it will be factory 309 in a base coat-clear coat application over a 2K primer. All the miscellaneous bits and pieces are done, seat frames, etc. Planning to start a build thread as I start the reassembly. Still thinking about what to do about the door panels as the PO had huge holes cut in the corners for the speakers. I am just going to install the original AM radio. If I want tunes they will have to be headphones from my phone or other device, don't really care for a lot of music, just on special occasions. Like my peace and quiet.

Looks cool. I'm kinda OCD, so I like things to match or be even on both sides. Lol! I think we got screwed with the U.S. models. Not as many options here. Crazy to see how many different options these things came with over different parts of the world.

@dustinuhls yes Toyota has slapped the good old USA in the face with the BS they have pulled! I am still not planning on buying a Jeep though! But at least Jeep is loyal to the country that they are making bank on.................

The only reason the US is Jeep's biggest customer base is because the rest of the world buys Toyota. :steer:

Got this welded up finally, thanks to my son for the welding help.

OK, I know this doesn't count as FJ progress but if you look you can see my FJ in the background and it's in the spirit of FJ progress. My wife didn't appreciate what I was doing and I thought you guys might. The factory tires on this thing were a joke. The new ones look stuffed but they don't rub! Even when "flexed out".

Looks good, I've been debating on going to a better tire on my zero turn.

Added OME stabilizer, and more pollen.

Installed land cruiser air box in my 3FE powered 40. Scoured the pick and pull for air tubes that would work. The 22 degree fitting and expanding fitting on either side of the metal intake tube are from an infinity G35X. The flex coupling on the air box intake is from a land rover discovery. The right angle bend is cut from a piece I found in a 92 FJ80, not sure it was actually from that truck since it was laying in the back. I brazed in the new nipple for the IAC valve tap in the metal tube using the metal coupling pulled from the FJ62 intake tube.

The airbox bottom is from an HJ60, the top is the FJ62 top. Needed to remove the two supports from the air box and rework them to fit the FJ40 fender. Also had to remove the coil mount from the fender.

The airbox took the space for the battery on the passenger side so it was relocated to the driver side using the BTB battery tray. I need to rework the battery (waiting for delivery of optima 34/78 and ruff stuff holder). Also ordered some heat shrink tube and high temp FG sleeve for the 1 AWG starter cable.

Finished up the project with the new optima battery. I also fabricated a new center prop rod. I used 3/8" rod. The grommet size for the hood is 1/2" ID and is made for a 3/4" diameter hole, 1/8" thick. I think the original is 7/16" ID but those are not easy to find. I just used a short length of 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD bronze bushing between the rubber grommet and the prop rod. I made a little cup for the rod to sit in on the top of the thermostat housing.

I used the same but in white.
