Whoa! Land Cruisers had rust back in 1981, suppose nothing changes. Looks like a rad time. And boss hog in the background of pic 1 is smoking something. I know the stance.Alright here are some more young people enjoying their FJ40s! All four photos taken on the same day in 1981. The first two were taken at the "vista point" on state Highway 4 in California, between the towns of Farmington and Copperopolis (but much closer to Copperopolis). Stopped to take photos on our way to a snowcamping adventure. Not sure what those guys are doing in the background of the first photo. Third photo taken "somewhere on highway 4 in the Sierra foothills". Last photo of my friend's truck after he spun out and ended up tail end down an embankment. We were not equipped to pull him back up with our FJ40s, and I am uncertain if we would have been able to if we were. A passing snowplow yanked him out. Great times.

The tan pickup in the foreground is a 1983, so that's the earliest date for that Yemeni photo. The North Yemen flag with the green star ended use in 1990, so that's the latest date of the photo. Don't know anything about the other vehicles. Otherwise that 40-year old pickup and its sisters is still probably in use today, likely with a machine gun mounted in the back ala Indiana Jones !
Uhhh, how’d you get that aerial photo? These last four photos were taken further up in the subdivision – it is all asphalt, concrete and private homes today! But back then – Great Times!
