I have experienced that when using stainless nuts on steel bolts or vice versa without anti-seize. But hoping by providing clear instructions and a small amount of anti-seize we can eliminate that common problem and have the hardware last a long time.Given the choice I personally will always choose standard steel hardware over stainless due to the galling issues it can present.
But I’m not in the market for these brackets either, just interested in how this is all coming together.
Guaranteed 3.5-4 seconds of happiness according to my research.@MTKID
Suh dude!
Still catching up, but is this new part I need to buy finally going to make me happy?
Plus who doesn’t like getting a little anti-seize on everything seconds after opening a packet?
Just to help those that are apprehensive about the steering shaft mod.Hopefully @Rusty Hinge chimes in, but I will share his comment that “the shaft extension itself will not close and does not interface with the steering shaft the same as OEM.” He almost had the shaft slip out of the extension, as I understand it.
This was his solution…

1st run of 1” and 1.5” in aluminum for test fitting. Initial fitting appears to be perfect

I spoke to Trim Lok today and they are going to ship out a few samples of shapes they’ve made in the past but aren’t currently on the shelf. It will probably be a few weeks. We’ll see if one of them is a good fit. They’ll only sell it in 125’ rolls, so if one of them is particularly good, I may be able to order a roll and offer to cut segments as needed for people. What's everyone's plan to deal with aftermarket front/rear bumpers and sliders with a body lift?
Jason is now sitting on 37’s
