Revision 1.0 3d printed for testing
We’re pretty sure we can get back down to 1/4” thick material now and eliminate the ear we wanted to use to prevent the radiator from racking or moving sideways.
So on to revision 2.0 next week. If anyone...
Eventually I might do a build thread but I installed a 6.2L, 6L80E from a 2014 Camaro into my 1996 LX450. It runs great and is a blast to drive.
An important part of getting this project finalized is the tuning. I asked permission to post here...
I've been rocking the 1" lift without any steering mods for over a year. I wouldn't, however, do any lift without either cutting the fan shroud or a radiator drop. Just not worth the risk.
Not the answer you're probably looking for, but I've been patiently holding off so that BL goes first and then all necessary tupperware trimming can accommodate the gaps.
That said, my 80 has a 1" body lift (post bumpers/sliders) and the gap is...
Can anyone see any problem (aside from a little reduced clearance to the fan for maintenance) to have the radiator drop brackets 3/8” thick?
If no one objects, that will be the thickness of the part.
Also, is this circled hole in use on...
I think 3/8 should fit once assembled - the only issue is it’s a tight fit on the lower 2 spacers. I know the radiator was hitting the fan as I tried to tighten the screws and my bracket was 1/4”
Granted, I was lazy and in retrospect I’d have...
I bought a complete pull out (motor, trans, computer) from Hawks Motorsports.
They drop shipped it to the shop who did my swap.
Setup came from a rear ended Camaro SS with 13k miles. I’ve put 30k miles on my swap and would do it all over again...
Just as an update, I've finally managed to clean up the AHC error on the 2016 LX570 with King shocks. a few things I found out:
1. the headlights in 2016 use full canbus for managing the beam leveling and receiving input from the steering wheel...
I have a total of five Method MR314 wheels. Four are new in the box and the fifth only has a spare mounted to it (not in use).
I've simply decided to go a different direction.
Purchased brand new for ~$1500
Price: $1300
Size: 17x7.5
Offset...
From what I see though, the rattle only happens at idle, in park, under very specific operating temperatures (not cold, not warmed up….in the transient phase).
Yeah, right? And .625"! :)
I do think there is merit to a .75" body lift over the 1"? All the body mount bolts seem to have 3/4" excess thread with the exception of #2 that has 5/8". #2 also has an extra thick washer. Solutions could be to...
Well, I loved the Michelin Defenders on my ‘13 LX (275/60/20), but wasn’t quite man enough to do it again (probably would have if there was a 33” option for the 21” wheel). Alas, I dropped some Cooper Discoverer AT3s (275/70/18) on 18” TRD Pro...
I run 37s on mine. Have for 2 years. Have wheel spacers, 2.5 OME lift, had to trim the front body mounts. They work great though. At full lock and fully compressed the outer lugs of the tires will still slightly rub the front body mounts, but not...
Had this typed a week ago and never posted:
With so many people wanting a body lift I'm curious if everyone wants them for the same reason or if they differ. @TeCKis300 @Cruiserhead05 @Yellow Jacket @Yukon LX
1. for more "lift" leaving...
I'm primarily #1 and #3.
I see the value of AHC, but prefer riding/driving in something lifted and a small BL help accomplish it.
I understand that #2 above is better accomplished with bumpers
I understand that 35's can fit without a BL, but...
Steering can slide enough to allow a 1” lift, although I have this extender I’m going to install to see if I like it, however, it's not necessary.
For radiator you have to do either a shroud cut like @MTKID or a drop bracket like me. Without it...
