Given the choice I personally will always choose standard steel hardware over stainless due to the galling issues it can present.

But I’m not in the market for these brackets either, just interested in how this is all coming together.
I have experienced that when using stainless nuts on steel bolts or vice versa without anti-seize. But hoping by providing clear instructions and a small amount of anti-seize we can eliminate that common problem and have the hardware last a long time.

Plus who doesn’t like getting a little anti-seize on everything seconds after opening a packet?

@MTKID
Suh dude!

Still catching up, but is this new part I need to buy finally going to make me happy?
Guaranteed 3.5-4 seconds of happiness according to my research.

I still haven’t found a good way to get it out of fingerprint grooves short of sanding off the fingerprints entirely.

Nitrile gloves work too I guess.

Hopefully @Rusty Hinge chimes in, but I will share his comment that “the shaft extension itself will not close and does not interface with the steering shaft the same as OEM.” He almost had the shaft slip out of the extension, as I understand it.

This was his solution…

Just to help those that are apprehensive about the steering shaft mod.

Just spent an obscene amount of money trying to find something in the Toyota catalog.

4526012710 looks to be the Toyo OEM workaround. @MTKID is going to order it and toss it on his larger than 1.5” BL to be the static test dummy. Mine is ordered as of 3 minutes ago.

Hopefully this is a simple solution and gets more people onboard with his kit he’s put so much effort into.

This is a half baked solution at this time. Cross your fingers.

Good luck everyone!

Here’s to hoping this is a solid Toyota OEM solution…

I'm guessing this is longer than his the 200 series one? By how much?

This is a Dorman @Rusty Hinge purchased for testing. Toyota part ordered. Looks like more than an 1”, but we’ll see.

The dorman was at least an inch longer fully extended but that slip yoke shouldn’t be pulled all the way out and driven on. Hopefully the Prius SS is better quality and has just as much length. When I put my BL on, the notch in the steering shaft missed the capture bolt by maybe a 1/4”. I suspect that was after the engineered slack was already eaten up, not knowing how much play the stock steering shaft had to move up and down.

If math still maths, it’s not a 1:1 ratio of BL to length needed due to the angle of the shaft in relation to the lift. Angle increase versus height increase. Just off the eyecrometer, it’s going to work on my test dummy of a toaster.

1st run of 1” and 1.5” in aluminum for test fitting. Initial fitting appears to be perfect 🤌🏼

(Don’t worry, those Napa rotors are for my Chevy Express 😉)

Just a wee bit cleaner than mine lol! Looks amazing man!

Thanks Adrian. I’m probably just overthinking it but still trying to make progress, slowly but surely.

Shiny! Here's what I homebrewed. Good thing they are hidden :)

What's everyone's plan to deal with aftermarket front/rear bumpers and sliders with a body lift?
I spoke to Trim Lok today and they are going to ship out a few samples of shapes they’ve made in the past but aren’t currently on the shelf. It will probably be a few weeks. We’ll see if one of them is a good fit. They’ll only sell it in 125’ rolls, so if one of them is particularly good, I may be able to order a roll and offer to cut segments as needed for people.

Jason is now sitting on 37’s

…but I’m too tired to explain everything right now that I did over the last four days

According to IG, @MTKID had a busy weekend. Anxiously awaiting updates...
I’ve been trying SO hard to avoid opening any more social media accounts, starting before IG was a thing. I too am excited to learn more preferably here on MUD. Looking great @MTKID!
