I've had this for a little while and had plans to make a fun camping rig, but need to get rid of a few cruisers since my main project is almost done. It's an 89 I got out of Texas, so no rust except for some surface on roof. Paint faded in many spots. It's got 250k and runs fine. Dash is not cracked. Drivers seat ripped. I've got a few parts accumulated for it: replacement side marker lights and one rear brake light, windshield gasket since windshield cracked and some new rear hatch struts since it won't stay up. Battery dead so I'll put a new one in it. Asking $4700. If you need any close up pictures, please let me know

I've got a 1988 FJ62, 192k origional miles.
Origional transmission, rebuilt about 20k ago, added a large auxiliary transmission cooler. Mechanically The truck runs well, most of the systems have been gone though, front end: new bearings, seals, knuckle rebuild. New ss break lines. New power steering pressure line. Fuel and air: Throttle body cleaned, new fuel regulator and damper, injectors professionally cleaned. New fuel pump regulator. Cooling system: new hoses, water pump, thermostat. Replacement copper radiator, tested and soldered. AC: rebuilt compressor, new dryer, converted to 134, apparently still has a leak, will run, but not for very long. Engine: valves adjusted about 10k ago. New valve cover gasket...

I have been dreaming of owning an FJ60 for some time now. I was finally able to get my wife onboard and now I am on the hunt. I am looking for one with little to no rust and preferably in red. A mechanical laundry list is okay as long as it is drivable and not on the brink of self-destruction. I am also not a stickler for it being a stock, unmodified example as long as the alterations aren't absurd. I am looking to land one or around 5K and then I am aiming to put another 5K to get it to where I want it. I would be open to more expensive examples as long as my overall budget remains the same (cleaner and more mechanically sound). I would love to know if you or anyone you know has one available in the Pacific North West...

This '88 FJ62 has been been in the family for a great 29 years, but unfortunately it is time to let her go.
Up until a few months ago, I would drive the vehicle at least once a week to keep everything running. To my knowledge there are no real issues with the engine, just some bad cosmetic issues. This vehicle has been at the beach in Los Angeles its entire life. Because of the salt water dew we tend to get here, the roof line has some bad rust issues. The original odometer had to be replaced at around 110,000 miles so the current reading of 45,735 miles is not accurate to the total mileage of about 160,000 miles. I'm searching for a rust free FJ62. As close to stock as possible. Preferably under 200k as this will be a daily driver. I'm located in GA, but will travel if necessary. If there are any suggestions for contacts that would be great. Seems that these are getting hard to find.
Selling my 1988 FJ62. Very clean inside and out. No rust. 277K on the truck. Engine rebuilt at 268k. Bumpers and wheels are plasi-dip black and can be resored to original chrome. Black roof is a vinyl wrap that can also be removed. Original paint on roof is in good shape with the exception of one golf ball sized oxidized area above the drivers side door. Have not had any problems with her since i bought her 5 years ago. she runs good always starts. i have an extensive service record on her. I installed an external transmission cooler off a series 80 with crimped lines, and re-used the fitting off another fj62. so everything is done right. Have not had any leaks.
She has 208847 miles on her.
i can provide all service records for her. And just pulled a current Carfax on her. just recently smogged her. And passed.

1990 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62. Full Restoration. $21,500.
This Land Cruiser is a beautiful vehicle. Excellent professional restoration and stunning head-turner. Too many items to list but here are some of the key upgrades:
Complete engine rebuild and replacement. The engine that had 225k on it was replaced with a rebuilt engine that had 110,000 miles on it. From the pics you can see the valve cover is painted as is the oil pan. This was done when the engine was out. All gaskets replaced. Valve's and upper end rebuild.
Transmission rebuilt when the newer engine was dropped in.
Transfer case seals done. Fully functional.
